Latest in the RR8 series, the DX Engineering DXE-RR8A-HP (Rev 1) is the low to medium power RF antenna switch with excellent performance on HF and 6 meters - useable to 150 MHz.  It uses 16 custom, sealed, moisture resistant relays to provide the best port-to-port isolation available and reliable, long term performance.

The RR8A-HP can be used as a conventional one-of-eight antenna switch or configured to simultaneously select multiple output ports, allowing use in a complex antenna phasing and stacking system.

The RR8A-HP uses a removable screw-terminal control cable plug that greatly simplifies installation by eliminating the need for disassembly or soldering to wire the control lines.

The best protection for the control lines during a weather event is to unplug the cable at the controller end. The use of a lightning protector on the control lines, such as the PolyPhaser PPC-IS-RCT, available from DX Engineering, is prudent as well.

AMR-RCS-12C for automatic radio interface switching of antennas

The Revision 1 remote relay box is a custom made Stainless Steel chassis and a special high strength, welded Stainless Steel cover. There is also a custom gasket to complete the seal between the cover and stainless steel housing base.
The RR8A-HP also offers the following features:

Why don't we make a smaller, 4-position switch? 

The costs associated with the design, manufacture and stocking of high quality remote switches with fewer ports is such that the retail cost would be essentially the same as our 8 port switches. Without a significant price advantage, most customers would likely opt for the 8 port switch anyway, keeping the excess unused ports in reserve for future expansion.

The RR8A-HP uses a star arrangement of 16 relays to select 8 output ports when voltage is applied from an 8-wire control line.
The 16 relays provide oustanding port-to-port isolation, improved power handling and SWR performance over conventional 8-relay switches. The system also offers excellent low-loss performance up to 150 MHz with less than 0.25 dB loss at 150 MHz and virtually no loss at HF.

• Control Line: 8-wire line larger than #24 for runs up to 1000 ft. (The feedline may serves as a ground return.) DXE-CW9 CAT-5e shielded control cable will provide 8 conductors plus a ground connection.

Mount the switch at the tower to select different antennas over the same feedline or use it to connect different rigs to a single feedline at the operating position.

Using a simple diode matrix, the switch can be configured to control the selection and phasing of up to 4 yagis in a stack.

All products manufactured by DX Engineering are warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of one (1) year from date of shipment. DX Engineering's sole obligation under these warranties shall be to issue credit, repair, or replace any item or part thereof which is proved to be other than as warranted; no allowance shall be made for any labor charges of Buyer for replacement of parts, adjustments or repairs, or any other work, unless such charges are authorized in advance by DX Engineering.

If DX Engineering's products are claimed to be defective in material or workmanship, DX Engineering shall, upon prompt notice thereof, issue shipping instructions for return to DX Engineering (transportation-charges prepaid by Buyer). Every such claim for breach of these warranties shall be deemed to be waived by Buyer unless made in writing.

The above warranties shall not extend to any products or parts thereof which have been subjected to any misuse or neglect, damaged by accident, rendered defective by reason of improper installation, damaged from severe weather including floods, or abnormal enviromental conditions such as prolonged exposure to corrosives or power surges, or by the performance of repairs or alterations outside of our plant, and shall not apply to any goods or parts thereof furnished by Buyer or acquired from others at Buyer's specifications. In addition, DX Engineering's warranties do not extend to other equipment and parts manufactured by others except to the extent of the original manufacturer's warranty to DX Engineering. The obligations under the foregoing warranties are limited to the precise terms thereof. These warranties provide exclusive remedies, expressly in lieu of all other remedies including claims for special or consequential damages.
