Overview

DX Engineering Fast Taper 60 Meter Monoband Vertical Antennas

DX Engineering Fast Taper 60 Meter Monoband Vertical Antennas are high performance 60 meter monoband vertical antenna systems with low wind resistance. Their tubing sizes taper from a massive 2 1/8 in. at the base to a sleek 3/8 in. at the tip. This fast taper provides the lowest wind resistance.

The base sections are secured to unique heavy duty insulated channels and tilt bases with DX Engineering's heavy duty U-saddle clamps. The massive EXTREN® channel insulator, which supports the rugged structural-grade type 6063-T832 drawn aluminum antenna radiator, has over twice the tensile and flexural strength of competitive nylon plastic materials, and is superior for their RF handling characteristics.

At an optimum 43 ft. in length, these antennas provide full-band 60M coverage at one quarter wavelength high, unlike some competitive products, which measure length starting at the ground instead of the vertical feedpoint. Since the impedance at resonance of a properly installed quarter wave vertical is less than 50 ohms, the SWR is optimized with the optional DXE-VMN-1 Matching Network Kit, rather than lengthening the element in an attempt to find better SWR.

Designed with 6063 corrosion-resistant aluminum tubing and stainless steel hardware, these antennas are very durable and attractive.
