Overview

DX Engineering MBVE-5-4UPR SAF-T-TILT™ HF Multi-Band Vertical Antenna Packages

DX Engineering MBVE-5-4UPR SAF-T-TILT™ HF Multi-Band Vertical Antenna Packages offer a freestanding 43 ft., high performance 160 through 10 meter vertical multi-band antenna system that is tunable to operate with an SWR of 1.5:1 or less.

Tuning is facilitated with the included DX Engineering Multi-Band Vertical UNUN, 150 ft. RG-213U coax feedline, and a wide-range tuner in your shack--or by installing an automatic tuner at the base of the antenna. A 200 watt plug and play package, including an antenna-mounted automatic tuner, is now available for 80 through 10 meters by ordering MBVE-5-3ATP. Our testing of the 43 ft. antennas, with 150 ft. of quality RG-213U coaxial cable and the MFJ-993B automatic antenna tuner, has yielded excellent results at the 100 watt power level.

The SAF-T-TILT™ HF Multi-Band Verticals feature a massive Delrin® thermoplastic insulator. They won't crack, splinter, and peel or fail while supporting the rugged structural grade type 6063-T832 drawn aluminum tubing. These antenna radiators are superior for their RF handling characteristics.

Free-standing to 90 mph wind speeds, these antennas are complete with their patented* DX Engineering Heavy Duty SAF-T-TILT™ Tilt Base, which enables operators to raise or lower the antenna in seconds--without the unsafe removal of mounting hardware, as with some competitors' antennas! With the SAF-T-TILT™ Tilt Base, one person can service their antenna--you'll have no more climbing ladders or removing brackets from the support post.

The included UN-43 high power Multi-Band Vertical UNUN delivers the power to your antenna with minimum loss. This results in improved performance on the lowest frequency bands, and the strongest signal that your antenna is capable of producing with the lowest SWR under given conditions. The UNUN mounting kit permits a complete, easy installation.

Also included is the patented RADP-3 Radial Plate, which offers many installation and performance advantages over other radial plates! First, the DX Engineering Radial Plate will attach easily and rigidly to a 4x4 or 6x6 wooden post using simple wood screws, or to a steel pipe up to 3.000 in. O.D. using one of our saddle clamps. Second, the DX Engineering Radial Plate is laser-cut from tough stainless steel. It has smooth edges that won't corrode and will always look good. You will be proud of how good your installation looks. There are similar plates available made of aluminum, which will dissolve in the soil--especially salty soil. Our stainless steel plate will look the same after being buried for 20 years as it did when you first took it out of the package.

While 20 sets of hardware are supplied with the plate, we add 40 more to give you enough stainless steel bolts, nuts, star washers, flat washers, and lock washers to attach up to 60 radials for top performance. Also supplied is the SSVC-2P V-saddle clamp to allow you to connect the radial plate to the antenna mounting pipe up to 2 in. O.D.
