Heil PR 781 Microphones are professional-quality dynamic cardioid microphones for Amateur Radio, specifically designed for use with elite transceivers from ICOM, Kenwood, Elecraft, Yaesu, FlexRadio and TenTec. They're truly remarkable dynamic microphones.
Heil engineers were asked by ICOM to develop a very special microphone package for their IC-7800 transceiver. They didn't want just a microphone--they wanted a SUPER microphone for a super radio. The Heil PR 780s were born.
Now, PR 781 Microphones offer the latest improvements and are beautiful performers in just about any equalized microphone input, such as Kenwood TS 990, 950 or 870; ICOM IC 7700, 7600, 9100, 756Pro 1, 2, 3; Yaesu FT 1000MP MK V, MP, 2000, DX5000 and DX9000; Elecraft K3; Flex-5000A and 6500 series. Using large diaphragm dynamic elements from Heil PRO Audio that are designed for broadcasting, PR 781 Microphones offer fantastic, wide-frequency response, while keeping that traditional Heil Sound speech pattern articulation.
PR 781 Microphones are supplied with the pictured SM-3 mount that has the standard 5/8-27 threads for your boom or desk stand. For lower noise, PR 781 mics are best mounted in an optional PRSM-B Shock Mount. PR 781 Microphones require the appropriate CC-1-XLR cable for your radio.
