Effective January 1, 2003
From time to time, DX Engineering is asked to supply prizes or discount
certificates for Amateur Radio functions, such as dinners or award
ceremonies.
We are happy to make such contributions where the function truly promotes
Amateur Radio and where such a contribution would also promote DX
Engineering.
Bearing in mind that the “paperwork” for such contributions is sometimes
on the back of a business card, it behooves us as a rational company to spell
out the necessary rules and regulations on our website.
Rules To Be Followed By The Function
In order for a function to be considered for a contribution from DX
Engineering that function must make known to DX Engineering the circumstances
surrounding the function such as:
- Where the function will be held
- The connection of the function to Amateur Radio
- How many licensed Amateurs will be in attendance
- Whether there is an admissions charge to attend the function
- What other prizes are being awarded and by whom
- The method of choosing the prize winner
- The literature that will advertise the function to the attendees
- How DX Engineering will be mentioned in this literature
In addition, the function sponsor must notify DX Engineering within 3 days of
the function of the name and Amateur Call of the winner of the Prize
Certificate. If the function takes place at an Amateur Radio show where DX
Engineering is in attendance, then the function will advise DX Engineering of
the winner information before the opening of the show the following day.
Rules To Be Followed By The Prize
Winners
General Rules:
- The Certificate applies to a single purchase.
- The order must be picked up or shipped at one time only.
- The customer pays all shipping and insurance fees.
- The Certificate is meant to apply to a single individual and for his
personal, non-business use.
- The Certificate is only good for the purchase of items that are manufactured
by DX Engineering, not those manufactured by others and for which DX Engineering
is merely a dealer.
- The winner may not assign or transfer the Certificate; any attempted
assignment or transfer will nullify or void DX Engineering's obligations under
the Certificate.
- The winner may not sell, transfer, assign or exchange the prize items
without prior written consent of DX Engineering.
Percentage Discount Certificate (PDC)
Rules:
- Percentage Discount Certificates are those that offer a set percentage
discount off current Retail Price.
- The maximum order amount will be limited to $1000 unless otherwise noted on
the original PDC.
Fixed Discount Certificate(FDC)
Rules:
- Fixed Discount Certificates are those that offer a set dollar amount
discount off current Retail Price.
- The minimum order amount will be 1.5 times the amount of the Fixed Discount
Certificate. For example, a $50 FDC is only redeemable on an item or items
having a total retail price of at least $75.
