The 3-500ZG tube from Dx Engineering is great. Here's the story. My AL-80B was not transmitting and I cleaned the bandswitch but no transmit, Called the techs at Ameritron and they said to clean the rf relay and power relays. BTW their techs are great, very patient. It turns out it wasn't the tube! This tube purchased from Dx Engineering is the same tube that came with the amp! I purchased my Ameritron AL-80B from Dx Engineering in 2011. After cleaning the relays, this original tube still puts out 1 kilowatt easily. Now I have a spare tube. Don't know if I will ever need it though?
