Notes: All ACOM amplifiers have a FULL TWO YEAR warranty. Drive for full output is 50 to 85 watts. Maximum input power is 100 watts. May be operated on 120 volts with reduced output. No AC mains plug included. All ACOM amplifiers delivered with 12 and 10 meters activated.

ACOM 2100 HF + 6 Meter Linear Amplifiers offer QRO operation in a manually tuned RF amp with many automatic functions. They are also designed to safely withstand up to 400 watts of reflected power and up to 100 milliseconds duration of drive spikes.

Additionally, these amplifiers continue to function with "soft" AC mains and will deliver more than half power at only 85 percent of nominal mains voltage. They can withstand voltage drops for up to 10 milliseconds and can tolerate 15 percent mains voltage spikes. This level of tolerance is especially important on Field Day, during DXpeditions, and at portable operating events where emergency power is relied upon. Be sure to read the SPECIAL Note, below.

The True Resistance Indicator (TRI) is a powerful tuning aid that helps the operator to quickly and precisely match the antenna impedance to the optimum tube load impedance. The auto-operate function (when enabled) maintains the amplifier in the OPERATE mode, thus avoiding unnecessary manual operations.

Your ACOM amplifier will enable you to change between three antennas virtually instantaneously and allow you to use your antennas over wider frequency ranges. Broadband input matching presents a very good load to the transceiver over the entire spectrum of 1.8-54 MHz.

These amplifiers produce virtually-silent QSK. The input bypassing and vacuum antenna relays are virtually silent even in the CW QSK mode; thanks to specially designed mounting hardware.

ACOM 2100 amplifiers utilize a single 4CX1000A ceramic and metal radial-beam tetrode vacuum tube with plate dissipation of 1,000 watts. Tube protection includes permanent monitoring and automatic protection of plate and grid voltages and currents, as well as the exhaust air temperature. These pieces of data are essential to indicate 4CX1000A operating conditions.

All ACOM 2100 amplifier status indications are explained via detailed text displayed on the high brightness OLED display. LED indicators are also provided for Power, Operate Mode, Attenuation-on, Transmit and Selected Antenna output.

* Frequency Coverage: 1.8-54 MHz
* Power Output: 1,500W PEP, 1,500W continuous carrier; for continuous carrier transmissions longer than 15 minutes the external auxiliary fan must be installed

ACOM 2100 - Quiet and Powerful

DX EngineeringDX Engineering Verified Purchase

AOM-2100
The best way I can think of to describe the ACOM 2100 is “quiet and powerful”. The excellent built-in tuning aid makes tune ups quick and easy. There is a slight learning curve to using it, but is not very steep. It quickly became the easiest-to-tune amplifier I’ve ever used. Full legal-limit 1500W power output is no problem. My new ACOMM 2100 came with the auxiliary cooling fan installed. The outside pancake fan and inside squirrel-cage fans are quiet. The vacuum relay T/R QSK is so quiet you’ll have to not hear it to believe it. From the front panel you can step through many parameters to tell what’s going on under the cover. To install the transformer, I of course had to remove the cover. The power supply boards are hinged to swing out of the way to allow easy installation of the transformer. Putting the cover back on, it slid straight down smoothly and seated firmly into place. All the cover screws lined up and went straight in without having to push or pull on the cover to get the screws to line up. A precision fit. No big deal maybe that the cover fits so well, but it’s typical of the overall quality of construction. There’s a lot to like about the ACOM 2100.

AOM-2100
Have been waiting for this model to be become available in the USA. It was worth the wait! Being a commercial radio tech \ shop owner for over 30 years, I can say the inside build is absolute excellent. Transformer install is easy. BUT - take your time and look the inside over first, where the wires go, and read the simple instructions. Unit can deliver 1500W+ so easy. I tested it so far on the 75M, 40M, 17M, 20M and 15M bands with no power loss across these bands. In fact it seemed to favor a bit 20M and up for output. There is no transformer loading \ groaning noise or hum period. Runs so quiet, I have to look to see if it is in operation. Watt meter(s)are fast, no TX relay noise, fast switching, fan and blower noise is as expected, no complaint, tunes so easy (read instructions first), flat out easy to use. Safety's work lightning fast. Front face well made. Display is bright. In operation and a bit long winded at 1500W, runs up to about 130F to 145F air temp, with no power loss noticed. Cools down quick to about 86F common idle. Although they work OK so far, my only observation is, the load, plate and band switch knobs have very thin plastic "pointer" covers. They are removable to access the knob fastening hardware. Could be a bit thicker.

ACOM 2100

AOM-2100
This amp is a quality product. The transformer is shipped separately from the amp and you have to remove the amp cover to install it. This allows you to see the quality of the build. Installation of the transformer is simple and operation of the amp is simple, just as their ads say. Previously I owned an ACOM 1000 for two years and ran it two hours per day every day and it works now as it did when it was new. I wanted a legal limit amp and this one was not available when I bought the 1000. The 2100 easily delivers legal output with less than 50 watts drive. This amp will not disappoint anyone who buys it. Hams like to compare amps to ALPHA quality. The 2100 absolutely is and don't forget that ACOM built the ALPHA 91B a few years ago. Art
