Hi-Z Antennas HIZ-PREAMP-75-V2 75 Ohm V2 RF Preamplifier – an updated Version 2 device that is used in-line at Hi-Z and other receiving arrays that are located in very low-noise environments and feature low signal levels. Providing 17 dB gain for any receive array that requires pre-amplification, the V2 design features new PC boards and surface mount technology with high linearity, quality components. They achieve a low noise figure of 3 dB with second and third order IMD performance that is 10 dB better than the previous Hi-Z Preamp. The V2 Preamp also includes MOV over-voltage protection and an output port TVS transient protection component.

The HIZ-PREAMP-75-V2 is normally installed at the receive array with a short RG-6 coax jumper to the array phasing controller or antenna output. Preamp output is sent over any 75 ohm cable to the shack where the optional, or array included Impedance Matching HIZ-TRANSFORMER converts 75 to 50 ohm for 50 ohm receivers. External DC power connection can be provided from 13.8 Vdc array power control cable or dedicated switched conductor for in-shack preamp control.

NOTE: The HIZ-PREAMP-75-V2 75 Ohm V2 RF Preamplifier is capable of a saturated power output level of approximately + 20 dBm or 100 mW. It would be prudent to check any receiver or other equipment to make sure this power level will not cause damage when connected. It may be necessary to use a signal limiting device at the receiver's input, such as the DXE-RG5000HD Receiver Guard Electronic RF Limiter.
