Heil Sound Foot Switches

Heil FS-2 Dual Channel Foot Switches are specially designed for controlling two devices simultaneously. Their typical application is to key a transceiver with the black lead and an RF power amplifier with the red lead. Due to their design architecture, the micro-switch controlling the red lead keys up first as the foot switch is depressed. Thus, the red lead turns on before the black lead, ensuring that the amplifier is keyed first before the drive is applied from the transceiver that keys up last in the sequence.

Heil FS-2 Dual Channel Foot Switches feature an ergonomic design with the hinge under your heel. This design requires much less effort and relaxes the shin muscles during long periods of operation, such as contest and DXpedition operations. Their hinge is a solid bar running through the entire top and bottom plates, eliminating threaded screws or fasteners that may work loose. They were designed for maximum comfort and reliability.

On FS-2 switches, one keying cable terminates in a 1/4 in. phone plug and the other in a male RCA phono-type connector. This red phono connector is common to many the amplifier keying input connectors or an adapter may be used. This red lead that keys your amplifier can easily be fitted in the field with other types of connectors. The wire is easily soldered, should you need to remove the red phono connector. The other black keying cable terminates to a 1/4 in. male black phone plug connects into the 1/4 in. female pigtail of the Heil Microphone Cable Adapters or Headset Adapters, which controls the push to talk line of the transceiver.
