Begali Simplex Basic

The Begali Simplex Basic may be their least expensive iambic paddle key, but it is an immensely popular and very capable instrument for CW enthusiasts. This model features a heavy, 3 pound (1.4 kg) base made from melting and casting phosphatized iron. No two bases are identical, even though the overall shape and dimensions are ensured by the mold. A rough, uneven surface with an individualized pattern is characteristic of this process.

The Begali Simplex Basic is among the few Begali keys that use long springs for the return force. Like their other keys, the Simplex is manufactured using CNC machinery for absolute accuracy and micro-threaded screws facilitate precise spring and contact adjustments. The clean-looking dual grey finished paddle arms are held in place by four ball bearings embedded in the base. The ball bearings are made of a light-weight alloy that provide an extremely low moving mass which allows exceptional responsiveness at high speeds, especially when the paddle arms are set for a light touch. The contacts of the Simplex are made from a durable 925/1000 Sterling Silver and the key features stylish gold plated components.
