Overview
Davis Instruments WeatherLink Software Modules
Davis Instruments 6560 WeatherLink for Irrigation Control software features a connector-block that connects directly to most irrigation systems, including Rain Bird, Rain Master, and Toro. Use your Vantage Pro2 or Vantage Vue (or Davis Instruments 6316 Weather Envoy) to turn your irrigation system on or off.
For industrial controllers, the connector block provides electronic pulses for wind, rain, and Evapotranspiration (ET). For homeowners, the Davis 6560 looks at rain and ET values to determine when to inhibit watering. It can also set console alarms to inhibit watering when temperatures are too low or winds are too high. ET monitoring requires a solar radiation sensor that may be optional on your weather station. Connection to a PC is not required, except for initial setup.
As with other versions of WeatherLink, you may transfer data to your PC whenever you like, or at predefined intervals of 1, 5, 10, 15, 30, 60, or 120 minutes. Use the Davis WeatherLink software for detailed analysis, graphing, or export the data to most popular spreadsheet, database, and word processing programs. The WeatherLink data logger can store up to six months' worth of data, depending on the chosen storage interval. You can see current conditions at a glance on the instant weather bulletin PC screen, or graph stored data on a daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly basis.
Use the included HTML templates or design your own weather website! Add graphs, text, lines, or scrolling ticker tapes and upload other files, such as images from a webcam, along with your weather data. WeatherLink requires Internet Explorer 4 or above for weather website features.
Expanded reporting includes heating degree days, cooling degree days, and fuel-on-demand. Evapotranspiration, leaf wetness, soil moisture, soil temperature, sunburn risk for different skin types, and solar energy are all available with the use of optional sensors. Share your weather data by participating in the Citizen Weather Observer Program (CWOP) and the GLOBE Program.
