Davis Instruments Radiation Shields
Davis Instruments radiation shield kits add an extra level of accuracy to your weather station by reducing the effects of direct and reflected solar radiation. They're a great addition to your Vantage Pro2 or Pro2 Plus weather station. They are also available for Davis Wireless Temperature Stations.
These fan-aspirated radiation shields combine active and passive aspiration to minimize the effects of radiation. A solar-powered fan operates during the day and then shuts down at night when the effects of radiation are lessened, keeping the sensors cool and accurate. Because it's solar-powered, there is no backup battery required.
These kits are an economical solution for adding the benefits of shielding and/or fan aspiration to your wireless or cabled Vantage Pro2 or Vantage Pro2 Plus weather station. They're very effective in reducing the effects of daytime radiation.
