DX Engineering 902-928 MHz Racing Timer Filter and Cable Set

DX Engineering partnered with the Akron Sports Car Club to solve a critical challenge in their sports car racecourse timing system. Their existing Farmtek Basic Roping Timer Package relied on a 900 MHz wireless link that proved vulnerable to RF interference and inconsistent performance when timing sensors were positioned far from the main unit. To restore precision and reliability, DX Engineering engineered a targeted RF enhancement solution built around a high‑quality band‑pass filter and low‑loss cabling designed specifically for the 902–928 MHz frequency range used by the Farmtek system.

The DX Engineering 902-928 MHz Racing Timer Filter Set is a custom solution that enhances the operation of the Farmtek Basic Roping Timer Package, which is also suitable for use on other IOT, ISM, RFID, M2M LPWAN and LoRa applications. Interference is eliminated and range extended when using this specific 902-928 MHz band pass filter with custom low loss coaxial cables, which help to provide accurate signals, including start/stop signals for the Farmtek timing unit.

The supplied adapter is to facilitate a seamless connection to an appropriate 900 MHz magnetic mount antenna (not included) to allow mounting the antenna outside of an enclosed space such as a scoring trailer. Optional high gain 900 MHz whips with Reverse Polarity (RP) SMA are available from DX Engineering DXE-900M-ANT-5-2, for connection directly to the timer, the filter or to an appropriate RP SMA antenna mount. Custom low loss coaxial cable assemblies are also available from DX Engineering.
