Wrapping at least five turns of the generator power cable around this pair of DX Engineering Ferrite Extra Large Toroids, either stacked together or wound separately, creates a very effective RF choke that can dramatically reduce RF noise on the line. With a sufficient number of turns around these cores, pulse noise produced by the generator may be virtually eliminated. Larger toroidal cores offer greater surface area for a greater number of turns of wire. Although more effort is involved with winding power wires around toroidal cores than using snap beads, a greater degree of RF noise suppression is achieved. Toroid cores provide excellent value for RF noise choking on larger wires and cables with plugs.
