Heil Sound Microphones

Heil PR 40 microphones represent completely new dynamic microphone technology designed for a wide range of Pro Audio applications including sophisticated studio recording, commercial broadcasting, live sound reinfircement and extended fidelity operations in amateur radio.

Heil PR 40 Microphones boast the widest frequency range of any dynamic mic in the Heil Pro Audio PR Series. They incorporate Heil’s sage-like understanding of phasing plug placement, creating outstanding cardioid patterns with unbelievable rear rejection. With the use of a very large, 1.5 in., low mass diaphragm, and custom, high-strength magnet metals housed in a specially designed microphone body, PR 40 Microphones achieve a magnificent dynamic range.

PR 40 Microphones are built with an internal shock mounted diaphragm that it is completely de-coupled from the anodized Champaign matte-finished steel body. This body and the internal hum bucking coil remove any worry of using PR 40s near monitor screens or noisy lighting fixtures and controls. In addition to dual mesh screens, each made with different diameter screen apertures, there is an internal breath blast filter on the diaphragm element itself, providing superb response for the human voice across the entire vocal range, without “popping” noises. In fact, PR 40s will provide flawless, smooth, flat response from 28 Hz all the way up to the 18k Hz, making this a great microphone for everything from vocals, to bass and tom drums, to guitar and bass cabinet mic’ing and more.
