Overview

4O3A Switchable 3:1 Coaxial Power Splitter/Combiners

4O3A Switchable 3:1 Coaxial Power Splitter/Combiners can be used to split power between one, two, or three antennas/directions, or to combine two or three antennas. They are broadband, and capable of operating from 1.8–30MHz, with excellent matching and a well-designed PCB and circuitry.

The PS-3000RX can be controlled using Station Genius or any manual switch controller that provides +12VDC for antenna selection. The SPLIT relay inserts a 50-to-22-Ohm transformer for matching when using two or three antennas.

4O3A Switchable 3:1 Coaxial Power Splitter/Combiners includes a unique “RX AUX” auxiliary output, which routes all unused antennas. This is useful when two operators are listening to a pile-up frequency using antennas from different directions. For radios with two built-in receivers, the second receiver should be connected to the RX AUX output. It will receive signals from all antennas not selected by the main operator.

When two radios are listening to the run frequency, both must block the RX AUX output using a PTT signal (GND). Connect the PTT IN RCA connector on the splitter to a PTT output from your station, such as APM, USB keyer, or Station Genius. When the PTT signal is active, the RX AUX output is grounded to protect the second receiver.

The power splitter is broadband and does not rely on 1/4-wave phasing lines for antenna matching. It supports mono-band Yagi’s, tri-band Yagi’s, single or tri-band quads, and vertical arrays. Mixed antenna configurations, such as a Yagi and a vertical, are also supported. The PS3000RX is rated for 3 kW CW, and is available with either SO-239 or Type-N coaxial connectors.

Key Features:

  1. Broadband Operation Without Phasing Lines:

Efficiently matches antennas across 1.8–30 MHz without relying on ¼-wave phasing lines, supporting various antenna types including Yagi’s, quads, and vertical arrays.

  2. Flexible Control and Impedance Matching:

Compatible with Station Genius or any +12V DC manual switch controller; includes SPLIT relay for impedance transformation when using multiple antennas.

  3. RX AUX Output for Secondary Receiver Integration:

Routes unused antennas to a secondary receiver, with PTT-controlled grounding to protect equipment during transmission in dual-operator or dual-receiver setups.
