RM ITALY BLA350 Plus HF Linear Amplifiers

Specifically designed for use with low power (QRP) transceivers on all Amateur bands from 160 through 10 meters, here is a compact and fully automatic amplifier that can deliver up to 300 watts output when driven with less than 10 watts RF input. These amplifiers include fast hardware protection circuits to protect the power transistors in the event of a high SWR condition on the antenna feedline. Two 50Vdc MACOM MRF150 RF Power FETs in Class AB push-pull configuration is automatically or manually switched to one of six low pass filters that provide over 50dB harmonic suppression. The built-in 800VA power supply functions on input house current at either 110 to 120 VAC or 207 to 244 VAC. Therefore two versions of the amplifier are available, RMY-BLA350P-120 or RMY-BLA350P-240, to include the appropriate fuses and AC power cord.

The BLA350 Plus may be used on all narrow band modes of transmission including SSB, CW, AM, FM, RTTY, FT8 and so on, using reduced power for the high duty cycle digital modes. Internally a dual microprocessor controls a variable speed cooling system. On the front panel is a large, attractively illuminated analog output power meter. Plus, the two-line 16 character LCD display shows amplifier operating parameters including frequency, filter selection and PA temperature. This display also enhances quick navigation of the amplifier’s menu system. Appropriate operations for this amplifier are on HF antenna systems with SWR below 1.5:1.

PLEASE NOTE:

This amplifier is intended to be used with a low power (QRP) transceiver that is capable of an RF output of approximately 10 watts MAXIMUM. DO NOT USE this amplifier with radios that are capable of 100 watts output. Even when output power is turned down, many 100 watt transceivers send out an instantaneous high power RF pulse that will blow out the Solid State final transistors of this amplifier. Damage to final transistors due to RF pulse and overdrive is NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. It is the owner's responsibility to use this amplifier properly, with a low power radio that cannot accidently damage the amplifier. Cost of repair of amplifiers with blown finals will be charged to the customer or will be deducted from the refund of returned amplifiers with blown finals.
