Overview
ACOM 1200S Solid State HF + 6 Meter Amplifiers
ACOM 1200S Solid State HF + 6 Meter Amplifiers cover the amateur bands from 1.8 through 54MHz. They provide 1000W output power (PEP or continuous carrier) with less than 50W of drive on 240VAC (max. 500W out on 25W RF input on 120VAC). All operational conditions are visible on a multi-function high-resolution color display.
Note: To install your own power plug, order AOM-1200S (you remove the European plug)
For a 120 Volt plug (NEMA 5-15P), order AOM-1200S-120 (500 watts)
For a 240 Volt plug (NEMA 6-15P), order AOM-1200S-240 (1,000 watts)
All part numbers include a power cable.
Features include:
* Five-inch (5 in.) (108x65mm) high resolution color display, 800x480 pixels and 24-bit color
* Final stage uses rugged LDMOS transistor - BLF188XR or equivalent.
* Compatible with all transceiver models available on the market - does not need any special signals: "ground on transmit" (PTT out) and typically less than 50W of RF drive power is sufficient for full power on 240VAC; a maximum of 25W input on 120VAC.
* Broadband input circuit provides a perfect transceiver load with SWR below 1.2:1 (typically 1.1:1), with no amplifier tuning, throughout the frequency range 1.8 to 54MHz
* The overall operation of ACOM 1200S is extremely simplified: the screen menus are intuitive and easy to follow
* Optional automatic control – when connected to a transceiver with a CAT interface, the amplifier monitors constantly, follows the operating frequency, and changes the bands accordingly
* If NOT CONNECTED with CAT interface, the amplifier monitors the RF input with a built-in frequency counter and automatically switches bands
* Remotely controlled by RS232 interface
* Protects itself during operation due to continuous protection circuits in all modes
* The user can monitor more than 10 parameters
* Easy maintenance – detailed data (55 parameters) about each of the last 28 protection trips is stored in the amplifier's nonvolatile memory
* Convenient field operation: extremely compact and lightweight construction, extended mains voltage range (93V to 265V), limited inrush current and Power Factor Correction (PFC) – all significant parameters in operation from unstable mains, generators etc. features achieved thanks to the built-in switching mode power supply (SMPS)
a) Rated output power: 1000W plus/minus 0.5dB, PEP or continuous carrier (1200W PEP max.).
b) Intermodulation distortions (IMD3): better than 30dB below the rated PEP output.
c) Harmonic and parasitic emissions output suppression: better than 60dB (65dB typically).
d) Input and output impedances: nominal value: 50 Ohm unbalanced, UHF (SO-239) type connectors;
* Input circuit: broadband, SWR below 1.2:1 (1.1:1 typically); 1.8 – 54 MHz continuous range without retuning or switching
* Admissible SWR at the output load (the antenna): up to 3:1 with proportional power reduction and up to 1.5:1 for full output power
e) RF power gain: 13dB plus minus 1dB
f) Automatic AC voltage Input Handling: 93 to 265VAC (no internal wiring change needed)
g) AC Input power consumption at full output power: 2000 VA or less with a power factor of 0.95 or higher
h) AC mains power consumption in Low Energy (waiting) mode: less than 1VA
i) Complies with EU safety regulations and electromagnetic compatibility standards, as well as with the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) rules
j) Environmental
* Temperature range: -10 C to +40 C (14 F to 104 F)
* Relative air humidity: up to 95 percent at 35 C (95 F)
k) Dimensions and weight: (D x W x H) 418 x 372 x 162 mm (16.46 x 14.65 x 6.38 In); 14.5 kg (31.97 lbs.)
Supplied with:
- A power cord
- A manual with a CE declaration of compliance;
- Two 10A fuses for operation on 200-240VAC or 100-120VAC mains.
These amplifiers offer fully automatic operation and superior solid state performance. To upgrade your station, order ACOM 1200S Solid State HF + 6 Meter Amplifiers from DX Engineering.
