ACOM 1400S 160-6M Solid State Linear Amplifiers

The ACOM 1400S high-performance linear amplifier covers all amateur bands from 1.8 to 54 MHz. It delivers up to 1200 W PEP or continuous carrier when powered by 200–264 VAC and requires less than 50 W RF drive and a simple “ground on transmit” signal for operation.

The amplifier is controlled via a dedicated Remote Control Unit (RCU) featuring a 7-inch color touchscreen with intuitive menus. All functions, except the main power switch, are accessible through the RCU interface. When connected to a CAT-enabled transceiver, the amplifier automatically tracks frequency and switches bands; otherwise, it uses an internal frequency counter for band selection.

Remote operation is supported through an integrated web interface and Ethernet (RJ45) connectivity. The final stage employs a robust 65 V LDMOS transistor for reliable performance under demanding conditions. A broadband input circuit ensures an SWR below 1.2 across the entire frequency range without retuning.

The ACOM 1400S incorporates continuous protection systems and stores detailed fault data for diagnostics. Its compact design includes a built-in switching-mode power supply (SMPS) with power factor correction (PFC), inrush current limiting, and wide voltage compatibility (90–264 VAC), enabling stable operation even on generators or unstable mains. Advanced EMC filtering ensures compatibility with sensitive and high-power station equipment.
