Great product, solves most people’s problems

DMN-MGC50
Like many people I just didn’t want to blow a hole though the wall to get my feedlines out of the shack unless I really had to. After reading a bunch of “expert” opinions online stating that something like this would be a bad idea, I bought two of these and figured I’d give them a shot before taking additional measures. I’ve been using these for just over a year and a half with no issues whatsoever. I have nearly 3000 SSB QSOs at 100w on HF with no problem at all. Keep in mind that you need to understand the power rating on these. 150w on HF and 50w on digital modes and CW on the HF bands. 2m FM is 40w and on 70cm 30w. I will say that one day I was testing a mobile 100w 2 meter amp and forgot about the 40w limitation and I keyed down a bunch of times at 100w and it took the power. I wouldn’t recommend doing that. I only did it because I forgot but I haven’t seen any issues with SWR after doing that. I was sure to clean the window with alcohol very well before sticking these on and I used a sort of industrial strength Velcro with 3M backing to secure them to the window. I did not use the Velcro that came with these. The kind I used has the sort of hard plastic material that mates on each of the two halves. They look like the day that I installed them just over a year and a half later. If you don’t use the screw holes I suggest that you put some electrical tape or silicone over the holes on the end that goes outside because I had some kind of very very small bugs filling those holes in just a few days after installing them. Not sure if they could get to the inner workings of the connector itself but I figured better to be safe than sorrry so I blew out the holes clean with a compressed air can and covered the holes with a little tape.

Performs well, but looks fragile. Could score better if it were waterproof.
