DX Engineering Kearnalex Connector and Terminal Greases perform the dual function of establishing initial low-resistance contact and permanently protecting the connection by inhibiting corrosion by air, moisture, and other contaminants. Especially whenever aluminum is involved in an electrical AC power connection, it's important that the contact surfaces are covered with a high-grade corrosion inhibitor and contact aid. Connector and terminal greases are also useful to prevent corrosion and contact degradation with copper and other metals.

DX Engineering Kearnalex is available with or without a conductive grit. In the product with grit, hard metallic particles suspended in the paste-like carrier break up the surface oxide and raise small areas of clean metal. When the connector is compressed, current transfer is enhanced through these areas. The non-petroleum based carrier seals out air and prevents re-oxidation of the newly-exposed clean metal.
