DX Engineering 80 Meter Self Supporting Heavy Duty Vertical Antennas, model DXE-7580FS-VA-2, are high performance vertical antennas specifically designed for the 75/80 meter band. These DX Engineering 70.5 ft. vertical antennas allow you to achieve the strongest possible presence at your power level and be competitive. These are FULL SIZE, quarter-wave vertical antennas that deliver fantastic specs and the highest possible performance at a price that can easily be justified.

Every design detail of the DXE-7580FS-VA-2 Heavy Duty Verticals provide for a very rugged 80 meter antenna that can stay up with no guying necessary and no worry. A 3 in. O.D. thick-wall 6061 aluminum tubing base and an extra-large insulating channel are combined with a patented* heavy duty stainless steel pivoting fixture that is second to none. Engineered for ease of assembly and adjustments, with corrosion-resistant aluminum tubing, stainless steel mounting brackets, and stainless steel hardware, these are very durable and attractive self-supporting antennas. If an extreme wind storm is predicted, one operator can easily lower and raise these antennas safely, due to the simplicity of the included Heavy Duty Pivoting Fixture and optional DXE-VRW-1 Manual Winch.

DX Engineering 80 Meter Self Supporting Heavy Duty Vertical Antennas offer full band coverage, with a 2:1 SWR bandwidth of up to 557 kHz, depending on your radial field. Your internal tuner can get the SWR down to 1:1 on any DX frequency for maximum power transfer.

This antenna system requires the installation of a heavy duty mounting pipe set in concrete. Specifically, 3 in. OD high strength galvanized steel tubing with 0.250 in. minimum wall thickness and 7 ft. (84 in.) minimum length, which is available from DX Engineering; part number DXE-VGMT-3CG. A customer supplied 2-1/2 in. Schedule 80 pipe that has an outside diameter of 2.875 in. is also suitable. About 36 in. of the mounting pipe should extend above the concrete. Depth of the mounting hole and amount of concrete is dependent on local soil type, condition and antenna guying.
