DX Engineering DXE-8U-PREP-P Coax Cable Prep Tool Combos pair two of our most popular prep tools in one convenient package! Together for your convenience, here are the DXE-UT-8213 and the DXE-CGH-8U.

DX Engineering UT-8213 cable strippers are the preferred method for preparing only single shield*, 0.405 in. size coaxial cables, including RG-8U, RG-213 and RG-11U, for standard PL-259 connectors with soldered center and shield. These strippers easily remove the outer jacket, shield and dielectric to prepare for soldered PL-259 coaxial cable connectors, including DXE-PL259-6 and AML-83-1SP-6.

Included with the DXE-UT-8213 in this Prep Tool Combo is our DXE-CGH-8U hinged cable gripper; it is the perfect companion tool! These grippers allow you to have a much larger surface to hold onto while the gripper itself securely holds your cable for easy trimming. *IMPORTANT: The UT-8213 Prep Tool is NOT intended for use on dual shield coaxial cables including DXE-400MAX and LMR-400 series. Those cables require crimped shield connectors with different stripping dimension. For dual shield cables use the DXE-UT-405C-P1 Cable Prep Tool for DXE-PL259CS8U-6 Next Generation PL-259, or the DXE-UT-405C-N1 Cable Prep Tool for Type N connector model 172102H243.
