Our patented* revolutionary new PL-259 connector and our premium DXE-8X coaxial cable were designed to make the new DX Engineering RG-8X PL-259 Low-Loss 50-ohm Coaxial Cable Assemblies the best RG-8X cable assemblies available for HF applications.

DX Engineering RG-8X PL-259 Low-Loss 50-ohm Coaxial Cable Assemblies are made from our new-process low-loss, gas injected foam dielectric cable. Featuring stranded copper center, braided copper shield and a non-contaminating Type II PVC jacket, our 8X DX Series cable assemblies are intended for moderate-power HF stations or mobile applications where short runs and flexibility are key factors. Slightly larger than RG-58 cable, DX Engineering RG-8X offers better handling characteristics and very good shielding. Plus, this is the new type of foam that cannot gather moisture and has lower loss than old RG-8X foam cables.

DX Engineering RG-8X PL-259 Low-Loss Coaxial Cable Assemblies are terminated with our new, custom-designed, silver-plated DX Engineering PL-259 (UHF male) connectors.

These patented* Next Generation PL-259 connectors feature:

* Full diameter, full length soldered center pins that snugly fit even worn SO-239s
* Spacious center pin inside diameter that accepts large conductors and allows generous solder flow
* Deep, double knurled threaded shells for secure finger tightening
* All DX Engineering Cable Assemblies are Hi-Pot tested and heat-shrink weather-sealed for the ultimate in service longevity

These new, ultra-high quality PL-259s have all silver-plated shells and bodies with center pins securely mounted in PTFE dielectric for exceptional RF characteristics and power handling.

Order some extras in various lengths to have on hand for the next time you add to, change, or rearrange your equipment. DX Engineering RG-8X PL-259 Low-Loss 50-ohm Coaxial Cable Assemblies are perfect for every station!

It works but...

The center contact seems to be a little on the large side, it fits in the mating connector but it has to be really forced on to get the threads to catch.

Great cables

I used a few DX Engineering made cables at the old shack with zero issues. When we bought the new house and I started to build the shack I decided to only use these cables because of their quality. Nearly all jumpers and coax runs are DXE made cables and what cables are not are slowly being replaced even if they have zero issues. Highly recommend if you want quality made coax.

Very handy for short jumpers in shack where SWR losses are not significant even at 600w. Really like the flexibility
