DX Engineering RG-8X PL-259 Low-Loss 50-ohm RF Choke Coaxial Cable Assemblies

DX Engineering RG-8X PL-259 Low-Loss 50-ohm RF Choke Coaxial Cable Assemblies feature our patented* revolutionary PL-259 connector and our premium flexible DXE-8X coaxial cable. They were designed to make the best RG-8X cable assemblies available for HF applications. Adding fifteen Mix-31 ferrite beads makes them even better! The ferrite beads provide RF choking to reduce RFI and improve current balance on antennas.

These assemblies are made with low-loss, gas injected foam dielectric DXE-8X cable, featuring stranded copper center, braided copper shield and a non-contaminating Type IIa PVC jacket. Okay for direct bury, our 8X DX Series cable assemblies are intended for moderate-power HF stations or mobile applications where short runs and flexibility are key factors. Slightly larger than RG-58 cable, DX Engineering RG-8X offers better handling characteristics and very good shielding. Plus, the gas-injected foam of DXE-8X cannot gather moisture and has lower loss than old RG-8X foam cables.

The ferrite bead choke part of these cable assemblies should be connected to a grounded protector or the radio end of the cable, especially when used on End Fed Half-Wave or non-resonant antennas, random wires, and verticals. They are also used at feed point of a dipole or Yagi antenna. Many installations can benefit from the use of an RF Choke Coaxial Cable Assembly, such as isolating the coaxial cable from a remotely tuned antenna system for improved performance.

These ultra-high quality PL-259s have all silver-plated shells and bodies with center pins securely mounted in PTFE dielectric for exceptional RF characteristics and power handling.
