The center hole is sized to fit over collapsible masts like the DXE Nomad fiberglass mast, providing a stable and secure base. Four outer holes serve dual purposes: they can anchor guy lines for mast stabilization and support soldered wires to create a ground plane—if your antenna requires one. However, for best performance and simplicity, a no-ground-plane-required antenna is recommended.
