ERICO CADWELD PLUS Control Units

ERICO CADWELD PLUS Control Units are hand-held trigger devices used to electronically ignite the weld material in only the One-Shot PLUS exothermic weld molds.

When common flint igniters are used for exothermic ignition, you must be right at the mold. That makes gloves and eye protection imperative. With CADWELD PLUS Control Units you stand away from the mold, providing a safety margin.

CADWELD's electronic ignition control unit uses 8 AA batteries and will ignite about 600 One-Shot PLUS exothermic welds before battery exhaustion. These units include a 6-foot (1.8 meter) high temperature control unit lead. The lead attaches to the ignition strip using a custom made, purpose-designed termination clip.

After the termination clip is installed on the ignition strip, the installer pushes and holds the ignition button to start a charging and discharging sequence. Within a few seconds the control unit sends a predetermined voltage to the ignition strip and the exothermic reaction is initiated. Once initiated, the weld process is automatic. These control units are only for One-Shot PLUS molds designed for electronic ignition. They are not for use with CADWELD One-Shot welding molds that are spark ignited with the T320 tool.
