Heil Sound Pro Set iC Headsets

Heil Sound Pro Set iC Headsets are lightweight, versatile boom mic headsets designed for comfort, durability, and, above all, performance.

Pro Set iC Headsets utilize the Heil Sound "iC" condenser-type electret element specially designed by Bob Heil for compatibility with the low gain mic amps found on many older ICOM transceivers. The iC element requires +5 volts DC phantom power that all ICOM transceivers provide.

Purchase an AD-1 series Headset Adapter Cable (sold separately) for a simple connection to the transceiver mic input. The adapter is 6 in. long and has a 1/8 in. female input jack for the headset boom microphone and a 1/4 in. female for the PTT (push to talk) line for the Heil foot or hand switch. The headset stereo plug goes into the headphone jack on the transceiver front panel.

Pro Set iC headsets employ full-size, oval, over-the-ear style headphones with heavily-filled cushions for enhanced user comfort during long operating stints. The supplied ear pad covers are removable for washing and replacement pads are also available. Aside from sealing out noise passively, Pro Set iC Headsets now include Heil Sound's exclusive phase reversal technology, which allows the user to "move" the incoming signal by engaging the phase reversal switch. This creates a unique spatial widening sound that can, in some situations, significantly improve copy in a tough DX pileup.

The earphone speakers in Pro Set iC headsets are 200 ohm devices with a -3 dB point at 8,000 Hz. This combination reduces a lot of the hiss found in receiver audio stages. These speakers exhibit medium sensitivity, but they are easily driven by most rigs if you turn the AF gain control up to about 2 o'clock.

Pro Set iC headsets are equipped with a windscreen for the microphone which does not affect the frequency response of the microphone and is highly effective in minimizing breath blast while you're speaking.
