Kenwood TS-590SG HF/6 Meter Base Transceivers mark a bold new chapter in Kenwood's proud history of manufacturing high-performance transceivers. Their new "SG" model has added many upgrades to their TS-590S.

Featuring narrow-band Roofing Filters the TS-590SG significantly reduces interference from unwanted signals that would hide DX in lesser rigs. With IF AGC that's based on advanced DSP technology, Kenwood has essentially redefined HF performance. The upgrades from TS-590S to TS-590SG make them practically new radios!

Built to satisfy the most demanding DXer, these high-performance HF transceivers take Amateur Radio to the next level; continuing the Kenwood tradition of operating ease and rugged reliability.

Improvement over TS-590S. I really like the 6 PF buttons. I get very good reports on my TX audio. Just using stock mike, settings TX equal BB1, low cut 300, and high cut 2500.

I have been a ham operator for 30+years. I own several Kenwood transceivers and the TS-590SG is a great radio, this is the second TS-590 I have purchased in the past five years, being a retired Broadcast Engineer, I place this radio at the top of it's price point. Larry Smith KD8IK

Great rig

DX EngineeringDX Engineering Verified Purchase

KWD-TS-590SG
I have been in the hobby for just a little over a year. Bought this to update from my first hf rig, especially since i have recently got started with morse code. It is great with cw and voice with the filters. Does an honest 100 watts on my meter and have recieved many complements on the audio. I am using a heil microphone with it. Like feature of the radio to be able to link to my computer so I can use a sdr play for a spectrum scope. Did everything I was looking for and then some.

Solid radio

I chose this over the iCOM 7300 because I wanted a radio with a long history of happy hams. As a new ham I thought it would be too complex but the manual is quite good and there are tons of videos and web sites to go to for help. You can't go wrong with this radio. I've been very happy with it.
