MFJ G5RV antennas are multi-band, center-fed dipole antennas capable of 1,500 watts. Designed as 3/2 wavelength antennas for 14 MHz, they provide reasonable performance on many other bands.

They cover all bands from 160-10 meters with a wide range antenna tuner. They are 102 ft. long and are designed to be used as an inverted vee or sloper to be more compact.

They may be used on 160 meters as Marconis (with a tuner) and a ground. These antennas handle full legal limit power. Just add a coax feedline and get on the air!

AWESOME ANTENNA

DX EngineeringDX Engineering Verified Purchase

MFJ-1778
I just recently figured out how to fit a full size G5RV on my small property. Antenna tunes up nicely on all bands with my MFJ 949E external antenna tuner. I can get 1:1 on all bands with exception of 10 meters. On 10 meters it is a little higher, but still, not bad. Most of the time MFJ is a roll of the dice in terms of quality, but they really did a nice job on this antenna.

I'm getting back into HF. The G5RV was a good antenna design choice considering cost and use on all bands. It's a simple antenna that needs only one support point. MFJ has the best cost vs quality for this antenna. Great way to get back on the bands!

MFJ-1778
I am pleased with my MFJ G5RV. It is well built and has good, solid, soldered connections. I expect it to last me quite a while. (I mounted it inverted V from the chimney to corner fence posts, using bungee cords at end connections for a little play in the line. Also, I used a flag pole mount and a foot of fiberglass pole on the eave of my roof to get the ladder line off the roof and up and around into the ham room.) Anyway, so far so good. I've used it on 80, 40, 20 meters. With 80 being particularly strong. It also works very well on 2 meters. (The other bands are unknown at this time due to radio limitation) Highly recommended.
