microHAM DXP Portable Digital Mode and Radio Control Interfaces

microHAM DXP Digital Mode Radio Control Interfaces are lightweight, portable and offers improved decoding of the received audio signal because of a high dynamic range, low noise 24-bit audio ADC and DAC for all digital modes, which improves the ability to pick out weak signals when strong signals are nearby and is useful for phase-modulated signals like FT-8, JT-65, PSK-31 or FSK. CW operation is supported by version 3.1 of the popular WinKey CW processor developed by K1EL with full FSK support, making it easy to key the transceiver.

The built-in 24-bit USB sound card offers a variety of benefits such as improved signal-noise ratio, greater dynamic range (>105dB), lower noise floor and improved weak signal decoding compared to standard 16-bit audio interfaces or USB enabled transceivers. The use of an external USB radio control interface leaves the computer's sound card free to perform its duties for the operating system like system sounds or video and bypasses the onboard 16-bit USB audio limitation of most computers.

Besides all digital modes, this microHAM DXP provides a jumper-free rig control interface for CAT, CI-V with a built-in level converter for ICOM, Kenwood, Yaesu, Elecraft, Ten-Tec and more with ready-made cables available for over 20 different transceiver types. The large memory keyers are conveniently accessible on the top of the DXP and connections are available for an external USB keyer, straight key or paddle and includes one PTT input for a footswitch and one output for PA PTT control.

This microHAM DXP uses standard-compliant USB device classes, which means it’s no longer necessary to install drivers on the Window, Mac, or Linux operating systems and all setup and configuration are handled via the white OLED display and use of the microHAM USB Device Router software is no longer necessary. Fully powered from a standard USB port, consistent galvanic isolation between the computer and radio eliminates the occurrence of hum loops.

A solid-state relay replaces the traditional output relay providing for quiet operation of the DXP and an electronic switch replaces common jumpers for easy device configuration. The female DB-15 port is backward compatible with previous microHAM interfaces: USB II, USB III, DK, and DK II interface cables.
