Overview

microHAM micro KEYER III Digital Mode and Radio Control Interface

image showing the MK3 front panel with yellow LED display

The microHAM micro KEYER III Digital Mode and Radio Control Interface is the world’s first USB interface to feature high dynamic range, 24-bit audio processing for all modes and is the most powerful all-in-one USB interface, the only one to support digital, voice and microphone switching in one box and features two separate channels supporting transceivers with two audio outputs (main and sub receivers).

The microHAM micro KEYER III works with most Windows, Mac and Linux-based logging and transceiver control applications for CW, Voice, FSK and Digital Modes and includes a CAT radio control interface that supports standards like RS-232, CI-V, Kenwood and Yaesu TTL. A powerful CW memory keyer using K1EL's WinKey, a digital voice Keyer for SSB, two-channel audio processing for transceivers with dual receivers, automatic microphone selection and a buffer/sequencer for amplifier or LNA control are all features included in the micro KEYER III.

The built-in 24 bit USB sound card offers a variety of benefits such as improved signal-noise ratio, greater dynamic range (>105dB), lower noise floor and improved weak signal decoding compared to standard 16-bit audio interfaces, USB enabled transceivers or even the micro KEYER II, the predecessor to the micro KEYER III. The use of an external USB radio control interface leaves the computer's sound card free to perform its duties for the operating system like system sounds or video and bypasses the onboard 16-bit USB audio limitation of the computer.

Connection to a computer only requires one USB cable and the connection to a transceiver requires a transceiver-specific DB37 cable (sold separately).

Note: Linux-based programs require the use of DJ5QV’s mhuxd Router application.
