Mastrant Antenna Support and Guy Line Ropes are available in several sizes and strength ratings, perfect for support of wire antennas, vertical antennas and antenna masts, as well as support of Yagi booms and elements. Mastrant ropes are of the highest quality for strength and are UV-protected for extended longevity. Mastrant ropes are stronger than other synthetic ropes of the same size, and are made from proven modern materials, including Polyester in Mastrant-P and Mastrant-R (reflective) and the higher strength Dyneema® DM20 core in Mastrant-M, a superior synthetic rope.

Durability and safety are of prime concern to ensure that an antenna installation remains fully operational for a long time. Antennas and guy lines are exposed to changing weather conditions, mechanical strain, UV radiation, humidity, and more. These non-conductive synthetic fibers have all the necessary qualities: high strength, negligible stretch but good flexibility, long life, low moisture collection, fast drying, a minimum bending radius adding the ability to tie knots, good UV radiation resistance, weather durability and resistance to acids and alkali.

Conversely, steel guying wires are heavy, difficult to work with, and their strength deteriorates with time due to corrosion and general aging. Electrical conductivity of steel guys is an undesirable feature, as they interact with the antennas and adversely modify radiation patterns.

Thanks to recent developments in synthetic materials, both amateur and professional users are changing over to non-conductive guys and ropes. Mastrant offers these products for a variety of applications, from thin support lines used for wire antennas and beams, to rope guys for supporting small and portable masts and vertical antennas.

When you need quality rope to install, replace, or modify your antenna systems, consider Mastrant Antenna Support and Guy Line Ropes, now available from DX Engineering.

I've been using it to support a 90 foot folded dipole for a few years now. Still looks good.

I first used para cord from HD for a 40m delta loop hung between two 110' pine trees 200' apart which are surrounded by other shorter trees. Within 6 months the HD para cord unraveled in sections and broke. It is a lot of work getting 600' of rope up while fighting tangles in the lower trees.... Mastrant -P 4mm rope was recommended to me. It has been up for 2-1/2 years, 2 hard NH winters, and a couple of significant wind storms and still looks new. Also the rope has a harder outter shell than the Big Box store paracord. As a result it is easier to pull it free from the pines effort to encase it in sap. We also used it to guy 3 50' masts, two 40' and a 60' tower for field day. My only issue is I wish they sold a 500' spool in addition to the 330' spool.

You can feel the durability and toughness. Takes effort to cut, indication of strength. Color also good for "disappearing" makes it almost stealth.

Was really impressed with this rope upon retrieving it from the box. Looks to be top quality. Going to be using it to string up a multi-band doublet, so we'll see how durable it is.

Nice small diameter rope

Needed something to attach to one end of my Inverted L for 160m so didn't need a lot of strength but wanted a rope that would last. I will say that in the cold the rope seems to get a little stiff - still workable but noticed that it holds it shape when cold. Hasn't been in the air too long so can't speak to its long term durability but based on the specs it does appear to be well constructed.
