With 12 elements on a 19 ft. 6 in. boom, but weighing only 8 pounds, 2M12 beams offer nearly 15 dBi gain, and are a great choice for accomplished enthusiasts as well as hams new to the world of VHF beams.
M2 Antennas 2M12 beams feature the latest computer techniques for optimization of pattern and gain. Their clean patterns allow you to hear more and interfere less. Clean patterns are essential for stacking, and 2M12 beams are ideal for stacking in either polarization. Two 2M12's side by side vertically polarized make a fantastic FM DX tropo package. Four or more 2M12 beams horizontally polarized are perfect for long haul SSB, CW or digital mode tropo DXing, meteor-scatter, or moon bounce.
Structurally 2M12 beams are sturdy and clean, requiring no boom support. Their booms are strong, with 1-1/2 in. diameter tubing in the middle, tapering to 1-1/4 in. and 1 in. sections that reduce weight and wind load. Elements are 3/16 in. 6061-T6 aluminum rod mounted through the boom on UV stabilized button insulators. At the heart of 2M12 beams are M2 Antenna's unique Driven Element Modules, with connectors that are O-ring sealed to the CNC machined block and coaxial balun connectors that feature triple O-ring seals. Internal module connections are sealed in a space-age silicone gel that has nearly four times the dielectric strength of air to enhance power handling.
