Overview

Optibeam 12 Element Five Band Driven Yagi Array for 20-17-15-12-10m

Here is the exciting OBDYA12-5 that features a full length 24.6 ft. (7.5m) boom and full size elements, along with a special multi-element feed system, to achieve phenomenal performance that is better than a three element monobander on each of the five bands it covers. Between 70 to 100% of the antenna is used for the active elements, depending upon band. Astounding front-to back results prove the OBDYA12-5 to be the best five band Yagi on the market.

OptiBeam OBDYA12-5 12 Element Driven Yagi Array for 20, 17, 15, 15, 12 and 10 Meters

The OBDYA12-5 is a full-size super heavy-duty 5-band HF beam that provides a single Yagi solution for the high HF bands without compromise in gain, f/b or mechanical construction. The longest element is 36.88 ft. (11.24m), the turning radius is 25.12 ft. (7.66m) and the weight of this beam is 121.25 lbs. (55 kg). It has a reasonable 16.13 sq. ft. wind load (1.50 sq. m) and operates with a single 50 ohm feedline.

OptiBeam Driven Yagi Arrays (DYA) represent a substantial advance in the state of the art in HF directional antennas. They are unique blend of progressive design optimization for multi-element phasing and spacing with the wide frequency range advantages of Log Yagi antennas, all while removing the disadvantages of traditional Log Periodic Dipole Arrays. The performance result is equivalent to an optimized 3 element monoband Yagi on every band. The DYA offers a wide frequency range of consistent gain and pattern, but with higher efficiency and fewer elements over the same length boom as the Log Yagi, effectively replacing them and LPDAs.

OptiBeam Driven Yagi Arrays are offered to provide an alternative to the world-renown Optibeam Multiband Yagis with these advantages:

  1. Highly weather insensitive electrical design
  2. Extremely rugged mechanical design
  3. Very stable gain and front-to-back patterns across the bands
  4. No long elements at the front of the long boom
  5. Elegantly visually attractive

OptiBeam Antenna Technology has achieved directional antennas with extraordinary electrical properties, including the highest efficiency, optimum band coverage, nearly constant gain and unchanging radiation pattern across the band, and low SWR. These antennas maintain consistent electrical characteristics under all weather-conditions and include a high power balun with UHF female connector for your 50 Ohm coaxial cable. OptiBeam Antennas are distinguished by their advanced mechanical qualities. Specially configured, stable and properly shaped element holders, robust square and round booms with effective and very solidly-built element transitions are OptiBeam exclusives. They provide advanced physical properties, including proper balance and the highest stability of the entire system. Elements are perfectly aligned and secured against torsion with minimal sag for a visually pleasing appearance. OptiBeam antennas are made for those who understand the true value of investing in proven electrical performance and unequalled mechanical quality for the ultimate in reliability. They are built to withstand the harshest conditions using the very best materials, including high quality aluminum alloys, UV stable synthetic parts and stainless steel hardware. OptiBeam antennas are designed to be easier to build than others, arriving in subassemblies with every part carefully sorted, clearly labeled, and extremely well packed for worry-free shipment and straightforward installation. For enthusiastic operators of all pursuits, OptiBeam provides the advantage of pure performance. Proven in the field and confirmed by the most demanding hams around the world – choose OptiBeam for your station.

Your new HF beam should be the best antenna available. After all, the antenna is "where the rubber meets the road" – and how your RF actually makes waves. Order the best available HF directional antennas – OptiBeam – from DX Engineering.
