REZ Antenna Systems Recon 40 Version 2 High Performance HF Antenna Coils are engineered for reliable HF operation across the 40–10 meter bands when paired with the REZ-Z17 17-foot telescoping whip (sold separately). Built with 14-gauge enameled copper wire, the Recon 40 handles up to 500W SSB, 300W CW, and 200W digital (50% duty cycle). Switching bands is effortless with the integrated weatherproof coil bypass switch—just flip the switch and adjust the whip for higher frequency operation.

The coil body is CNC-machined in the USA from Delrin and 6061 anodized aluminum, offering exceptional durability and full weather resistance. O-rings and gasket seals at every joint protect the internal components from moisture and debris. A precision-machined wire groove ensures mechanical stability and optimal spacing for low-loss performance.

A standout feature of the new and improved Version 2 Recon 40 (REC40-II) is the integration of radial ports milled directly into the base of the antenna—eliminating the need for a separate radial puck. In the original model, users had to attach an external puck accessory to connect radials. Version 2 streamlines this process by building the functionality into the coil itself, enhancing both setup speed and field reliability. The integrated puck is precision-machined and supports up to eight 4mm banana plugs, allowing quick connection of REZ’s 4-wire radial kit and easy expansion of your radial field for improved ground performance and signal efficiency.
