REZ Antenna Systems Z-17SS Telescopic Whips are 17-foot telescopic stainless steel whip antennas engineered for portable HF operations. Combining lightweight construction with rugged durability, they are ideal for Parks on the Air (POTA), Summits on the Air (SOTA), and other field deployments. This antenna offers reliable performance in a compact, easily deployable design.

When paired with the Scout base, the Z-17SS is resonant as a ¼-wave vertical from 20 through 6 meters. Add the Scout 4017 loading coil, and it loads up 40 meters with ease. For even more flexibility, pair it with the Recon 40 to cover 40–6 meters, or use it with the Ranger 80 to operate from 80 through 6 meters with a modular, field-tuned system.

Rated for 1,000 watts PEP, the Z-17SS offers a solid combination of durability, performance, and portability. It’s a go-to whip for portable operators looking for versatility across multiple bands without compromising build quality.

IMPORTANT: Due to the length of this antenna, it is a requirement that the mounting tripod be weighted. We recommend a minimum of 5lbs. of weight when deploying this whip on the Z-Pod.
