KD9SV Products SV-PEN Pennant Transformers
KD9SV Products SV-PEN Pennant Transformers are efficient transformers that will work with either 50 or 75-ohm feed-line cables. The included 910 ohm terminating resistor is required by the pennant antenna design. All you need to add is about 75' of wire, some antenna rope and four insulators to create your own pennant antenna!
A pennant antenna, in the shape a vertically oriented trapezoid, has a feed-point impedance of approximately 900 ohms. This requires the use of a specialized matching transformer other than a Beverage type. KD9SV Products developed SV-PEN Pennant Transformers to satisfy the needs of hams wishing to build their own directional pennants.
Even on 160 meters a pennant antenna has a manageable size! You may use one as a 160/80/40 tri-band receive antenna with remarkable results. Pair your 160 meter pennant with a receive preamp for outstanding performance!
