Chelegance JMAT-50 Couterpoise Magnet Mats help provide capacitive coupling when using an antenna that doesn't have enough ground plane. Constructed of a metallic cloth, covered with a film laminate, these magnetic mats are durable and will stay where they are placed. One mat, when attached to a vehicle, should be sufficient to help cover from 7 to 50 MHz. Two of the mats together should provide enough of a counterpoise (along with a vehicle) to tune on the 3.5 MHz band. The ground braid that connects the mat to the antenna is replaceable and a shorter (less than 7") is recommended to prevent tuning failures.
