COMTEK 40VA Vertical Antennas are rugged, yet economical quarter wave antennas designed primarily to be used in sets with phased vertical array systems. For instance, DX Engineering DVA Dual Vertical Array systems and four square arrays from COMTEK and DX Engineering or any other four-square array controllers. Designed by the people who know all about phasing, these antennas provide precise control of all parameters. Constructed from 6063-T832 (drawn, not extruded) aircraft-spec aluminum tubing, COMTEK 40VA antennas taper from a huge 2 in. O.D. base section to 1-3/8 in. O.D. at the top. While they're built to withstand the most rugged environmental conditions, light guying is always recommended for phased systems to keep the spacing precise and minimize swaying. Hardware used is of the highest quality. High-strength, UV-resistant EXTREN insulators that won't crack, peel, splinter, or fail will ensure you of years of long-lasting, reliable performance under adverse conditions. Mounting brackets are laser-cut by the latest state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment. Stainless steel hardware is used throughout and the antennas come complete with V-saddle clamps for installation to your ground-mounted pipe. A 2 in. O.D. is recommended but the clamps will accept any O.D. from 1 in. to 2 in.
