COMTEK ACB-4 Series Four-Square Switch Relay Units
COMTEK ACB-4 Series Four-Square Switch Relay Units use a well-established design and proven technology to offer any ham an advanced antenna system with s possible. Our phased array systems are affordable, simple to install, and easy to use. COMTEK ACB-4 Hybrid Four-Square Relay Units are single-band phasing and relay devices. They are typically in stock for every major HF contesting Amateur band and 30 meters; 60 meter array units are available by special order. Four-Square arrays are single band specific, due to antenna spacing and phasing feedline lengths, and for proper phasing and patterns. For manual operation, these relay units require the COMTEK ACB-4A Four-Square Control Console. It is now made to run on 12 to 14 Vdc, allowing easy operation of the four square array with battery emergency or International power sources. A DX Engineering factory-tuned cable feed system for the vertical array (available for your center frequency and sold separately) will provide the best performance. COMTEK ACB-4 Hybrid Four-Square Systems
COMTEK ACB-4 Hybrid Four-Square Systems are phased array Relay Units and Control Consoles that are affordable, simple to install, and easy to use. A four-square phased array consists of four mono-band resonant elements fed in phase relationships and power ratios that produce a directional cardioid pattern. Four-square arrays offer up to 5 dB of forward gain and fantastic front-to-back rejection over 25 dB! COMTEK ACB-4 Hybrid Four-Square Systems are designed for use with four quarter-wave ground mounted verticals, spaced one-quarter free space wavelength on the side of the square, with complete ground radial systems. Properly installed with quarter-wave 75-ohm phasing feedlines, the Four Square provides an excellent cardioid pattern that is steerable to the four directions of the corners of the four square array. Ground-mounted vertical arrays are easier to build and less costly to maintain than towers and beam antennas. Four-Square arrays are a practical solution for building a high performance directional HF antenna system, especially for Low Band DXing and contesting. COMTEK 40VA 40 Meter Vertical Antennas
COMTEK 40VA Vertical Antennas are rugged, yet economical quarter wave antennas designed primarily to be used in sets with phased vertical array systems. For instance, DX Engineering DVA Dual Vertical Array systems and four square arrays from COMTEK and DX Engineering or any other four-square array controllers. Designed by the people who know all about phasing, these antennas provide precise control of all parameters. Constructed from 6063-T832 (drawn, not extruded) aircraft-spec aluminum tubing, COMTEK 40VA antennas taper from a huge 2 in. O.D. base section to 1-3/8 in. O.D. at the top. While they're built to withstand the most rugged environmental conditions, light guying is always recommended for phased systems to keep the spacing precise and minimize swaying. COMTEK Control Cable
COMTEK Control Cable is a high-quality, PVC-jacketed control cable consisting of either three or four 20 AWG conductors. It may be used in a multitude of control cable applications including remote electronic switching and antenna rotators. These cables are sold by the foot cut-to-length and by 1,000 ft. spool. COM-CW-3 and COM-CW-4 are sometimes thought to be DXE-CW-3 and DXE-CW-4 but they are a COMTEK brand cable.
