DX Engineering Maxi-Core® 20 Baluns and Feedline Chokes

The present-day DX Engineering was launched in the year 2000. To celebrate our 20th Anniversary in the year 2020 we have developed a new line of Baluns and Feedline Chokes. Introducing DX Engineering "Maxi-Core® 20" Baluns and Feedline Chokes. They reduce or eliminate currents on the outside of your feedline allowing you to hear and to be heard much better. They keep more RFI/BCI out of your antenna and receiver and transfer more of your transmitted signal to the antenna for higher efficiency, the best antenna pattern and maximum performance. Signaling a new era of RF performance across the 1.8 to 54 MHz frequency range, DX Engineering Maxi-Core® 20 Baluns and Feedline Chokes handle full-legal-power-plus and provide higher common mode impedance (CMI) across a greater frequency range than competing models and even previous DX Engineering and Comtek models. Years of R&D coupled with major advancements in test equipment and techniques combined with custom ferrite materials have allowed our engineering team to design the DX Engineering Maxi-Core® 20 Baluns and Feedline Chokes. Maxi-Core® 20 Baluns and Chokes have high CMI across the AM Broadcast band and the HF/6M spectrum, which is essential to provide sufficient suppression of unwanted transmitted and received RFI/BCI current on the feedline shield exterior. Hear and be heard with DXE Maxi-Core® 20 Baluns and Feedline Chokes. Choose superior performance from these models: * DXE-MC20-1-1 Maxi-Core® 20 - 1:1 Current Choke Balun - For all HF-6m balanced antennas with a 50 ohm feedpoint, including resonant dipoles, loops, Yagis, beams, etc. * DXE-MC20-FC Maxi-Core® 20 - 1:1 Feedline Choke – This high CMI line isolator is perfect for use in line on 50 ohm coaxial feedlines, at the antenna, tower or shack end of the feedline. * DXE-MC20-1-1T Maxi-Core® 20 - 1:1 Current Choke Balun – This 1:1 "T" model is for force feeding antennas with a tuner. Use it at the end of ladder line of any impedance or mounted on a coax fed non-resonant antenna. This model tolerates operation at high SWR on non-resonant multi-band antennas. * DXE-MC20-C4-1 Maxi-Core® 20 - 4:1 Current Choke Balun is for use on antennas with a 200 ohm feedpoint and at the end of any impedance ladder line, especially on antenna systems with higher impedance. This model tolerates operation at high SWR on non-resonant multi-band antennas. * DXE-MC20-V4-1 Maxi-Core® 20 - 4:1 Voltage Balun is a 200 ohm to 50 ohm transformer for use on random long-wire and OCF antenna applications. This true voltage balun is intentionally designed with low CMI for antennas that need a transformer without RF choking for easier antenna tuner operation and it tolerates elevated SWR. Maxi-Core® 20 Baluns and Feedline Chokes are built into a convenient weather resistant NEMA enclosure that is mounted easily with optional brackets. They feature 1/4-20 stainless steel hardware and a high quality silver-plated PTFE dielectric SO-239 (UHF female) input connector. DX Engineering Receiver Guard Electronic RF Limiters

DX Engineering Receiver Guard RG5000HD Electronic RF Limiters are the best choice of inline devices to protect your receiver antenna inputs. The Receiver Guard is a receive antenna input limiter specifically designed to protect a sensitive receiver front-end against high levels of RF and potential damage. At the heart of each Receiver Guard is a highly effective electronic RF limiter covering 500 kHz to 150 MHz with an insertion loss under 0.15 dB up to 50 MHz and under 0.30 dB up to 150 MHz. The multi-stage design includes a gas discharge tube for maximum pulse energy protection. The DXE-RG5000HD rejects 10 watts of catastrophic receive antenna feedline RF while passing a maximum signal of about 87 dB over S-9, which is only 25 mw, a signal level that is well below the point of front end damage. Receiver Guards are a must for multiple radio contesting stations and they provide low-cost front-end "insurance." Use them in these common high-RF situations: - Receive antennas in very close proximity to transmit antennas - Field-day operations with many transmitters in close range - Multi-transmitter contesting sites - Neighboring Amateur and CB operators - Frequent high-power mobile encounters Extensively tested and proven in real-world stations, the Receiver Guard works for all radios and offers the ultimate performance required by the upper tier of transceivers tested to have the best narrow-spaced third-order dynamic range or published RMDR (Reciprocal Mixing Dynamic Range). These are passive electronic limiters, so competitive contesting stations use separate band filters in addition to the Receiver Guard. When there are high levels of RF on your receive antennas, the DX Engineering Receiver Guard generates far less harmonic noise than other limiters on the market, which allows your station to continue to operate safely and competitively. At normal HF signal levels the RG5000HD operates continuously with no effect on the performance of your station while providing the best possible protection for your radio. Here are key Receiver Guard features: * Keeps stray high levels of RF from damaging your receiver input * Ideal for separate 160 and/or 80 meter receive systems with large pulse and RF energy capture area * Uses state of the art components for maximum protection of receivers * Under 6 ns response time * Multi-Stage protection * Very low insertion loss * Uses BNC type connectors to avoid accidental connection to a transmit feedline * Has been developed and tested in world-recognized multi-multi contest station K3LR Specifications - DX Engineering Receiver Guard model DXE-RG-5000HD - Frequency Range: 0.5 through 150 MHz - Insertion Loss: < 0.15 dB up to 50 MHz, < 0.3 dB 50 MHz up to 150 MHz - VSWR: < 1.2:1 - Maximum Output Level at 10 W input: +14 dBm (0.025 W) - Maximum Power Handling: 10 W CCS (Continuous Commercial Service) - Device Impedance: 50 to 75 ohms, unbalanced - Connectors, Input and Output: BNC female Note: Whenever the DX Engineering "Documentation" tab is available, please look at the associated files for additional product information. What happens if the receive antenna is extremely close to the transmit antenna, or there is an antenna support or other system failure that causes a high RF level to enter the receive antenna input? A DX Engineering Receiver Guard can save the day! Order yours now.

DX Engineering Receive Short Element Active Vertical Antennas

DX Engineering Receive Short Element Active Vertical Antennas (the RSEAV Antennas) offer excellent low noise radio frequency reception from 40 kHz to 30 MHz. Better receiving performance than full-size transmit antennas and other active makes the DXE-RSEAV-1 the best choice on the market for VLF through HF reception, including long-distance AM broadcast, Medium Wave and Shortwave (SWL), and new low-frequency Amateur bands, DXing, contesting, and everyday HF operations. Click on a listed product title and Scroll Down to see additional important information. A complete product description appears below the Specifications Overview. Instruction manual links appear in the Documentation section. The sleek and stealthy DXE-RSEAV-1 includes a high-quality three-section 8.5 ft. (2.6m) aluminum tubing whip, insulated mounting plate and the completely new DXE-AVA-3 Active Matching Unit. Its state-of-the-art broadband operational amplifier design works as a high-impedance buffer between the short antenna element and RG6U 75-ohm coax. When installed in the appropriate location, RSEAV antennas provide significantly better weak signal reception than other active receive antennas and full-size transmit-capable antennas, with substantially reduced noise and lower spurious signal interference. Receive Short Element Active Vertical Antennas are intended to be mounted on a ground rod at ground level in a clear area away from all metal, towers and other antennas. They are sold individually (DXE-RSEAV-1), or with a bias tee (DXE-RSEAV-1FVI) and DXE-RSEAV-1 Receive Short Element Active Verticals set a new standard for "Active Receive Vertical Antennas" replacing legacy DXE-ARAV-3, ARAV-2, ARAV-1 and AL-24 versions. Use multiple DXE-RSEAV-1 for all 4 and 8 element DX Engineering Receive Arrays – all 3, 4 and 8 element Hi-Z Antennas Arrays – and 2 element receive arrays with DXE-NCC-2 and NCC-1 Variable Phasing Controllers. The DXE-RSEAV-1 is designed to be a very low-gain, low-noise antenna for greatly improved signal-to-noise performance over a very wide range of frequencies. In a proper single or multi-element array installation, this Receive Vertical antenna will attenuate high-angle skywave signals, which is the goal for a low band DXing receive antenna. Low-angle, long-range DX signals are easier to copy with a good radio and DX Engineering Receive Short Element Active Vertical Antennas. Please Note: To achieve the expected reception pattern, multi-element phased arrays depend upon identical gain and phase response from each element. Every individual element amplifier, its grounding, and even its feedline characteristics and length, must be identical to the others in the array. Therefore, when unrepairable failures occur, it is essential to replace or upgrade all the elements in the array with identical, fully compatible DXE-RSEAV-1 antennas or DXE-AVA-3 units.

DX Engineering® OMNI-TILT® Vertical Antenna Tilt Bases

DX Engineering® OMNI-TILT® Vertical Antenna Tilt Bases are a completely new design that incorporates features that make this Tilt Base a 'must-have' for all types of vertical antennas. The OMNI-TILT® is patterned on the same proven safe technology as the patented DX Engineering® SAF-T-TILT® and the patented DXE-TB-3P Tilt Bases, that are designed to prevent the antenna from falling when the fasteners are loosened. The user simply lifts the OMNI-TILT® base plate and this positive action disengages the bolts from the top slot, which allows the user to easily and safely walk the ground-mounted antenna up or down for tuning, maintenance, stealth antenna stowing, or in the event extreme weather is on the way. Order one of these OMNI-TILT® models for your vertical antenna system: DXE-OMNITILT-1P for Hustler BTV Series and Hy-Gain AVQ Series Trap Vertical Antennas--Both antenna types use the supplied DXE-TVA-HWK Trap Vertical Mounting Hardware kit. DXE-OMNITILT-2P for Elevated Mount Verticals, include Cushcraft R8, R9, Hy-Gain AV-640, MFJ, GAP and many other antennas for HF and VHF – DXE-OTMC-250P Clamps (2) are included for customer-supplied upper antenna support tubing or pipe of 1.25 to 2.50 in. OD. NOTE: Both models REQUIRE two (2) optional DXE-OTMC-250P clamps to attach the non-tilt part of OMNI-TILT® to a user-supplied lower Mast Pipe of 1 1/4 to 2 1/2 in. O.D. The ability to attach this tilt base and your antenna to a pipe from 1 1/4 up to 2 1/2 in. is an important new feature of the OMNI-TILT®. Alternatively, all OMNI-TILT® models may be mounted on a 4 x 4 in. or larger wooden post with user-supplied attachment hardware; typically lag screws. This is why the DXE-OTMC-250P clamps for the non-tilt portion are NOT SUPPLIED, as they would be unused with wood-post installation and at added expense. DX Engineering® OMNI-TILT® bases are custom made from laser cut 1/8 in. thick Stainless Steel for strength and durability. All of the hardware used in the OMNI-TILT® Base is Stainless Steel to ensure long and dependable service. The DX Engineering® OMNI-TILT® is a 2-piece assembly of stainless steel U-shaped plates. As noted above, the OMNI-TILT® rear plate is typically mounted to your 1.25 in. to 2.50 in. steel pipe using the optional DXE-OTMC-250P Mounting Clamps, purchased separately for either model. The OMNI-TILT® front plate pivots on a pair of high-strength bolts. Both plates have extra holes to allow a wide range of optional mounting hardware to maximize the use of the OMNI-TILT® for many types of vertical antennas. For example, on both models OMNITILT -1P or -2P, the rear plate may be mounted with your hardware to a wood post, and the front plate accommodates other types of clamps for other antennas. DX Engineering® offers optional Tilt Base Wing Nut Knobs - DXE-AOK-OT1194 - that will allow for quick release of the DX Engineering® DXE-OMNI-TILT® base top bolts, without tools! DX Engineering Vertical Antenna Matching Network

The DX Engineering Vertical Antenna Matching Network, DXE-VMN-1, is a custom-designed impedance matching coil that is used at the feedpoint of a low band HF quarter-wave vertical or a Hustler 4-BTV, 5-BTV or 6-BTV multi-band vertical antenna. In most ground-mounted 160, 80, 60 or 40 meter mono-band vertical antenna installations with very good radial systems and high efficiency, feedpoint impedance at resonance is naturally well below 50 ohms, typically between 25 and 40 ohms. Achieving the best SWR match to a 50 ohm coaxial cable feedline on these resonant vertical antennas usually requires this type of coil for adjusting feed point impedance. When mounted with the included L-bracket, the DXE-VMN-1 is just under 7 in. tall. It works as an impedance matching coil, also known as a shunt coil, because it is installed in parallel with the feedline, from the antenna to ground. Plus, it connects the antenna to DC ground to bleed off, or shunt, any static electric charge on the antenna to ground. Yet, it works perfectly as an impedance transformer at HF, just like a hair pin or beta match on a Yagi, easily handling legal limit RF power. The DXE-VMN-1 can aid in matching the low-impedance feedpoint of a multi-band antenna to a reasonable SWR in the user-selected portions of 80 or 40 meter bands without affecting the operation on the other, higher frequency bands. The DXE-VMN-1 has a special coil tap clip to make the inductance adjustment needed for the correct match. NOTE: This matching network is not for use on 43 ft. non-resonant multi-band verticals. It cannot be used as a series coil to "load" a vertical to a lower frequency operation, especially with high power. Matching network shunt coils, loading coils and baluns cannot be used on verticals used in a phased array. Most phased vertical array systems cannot work with matched 50-ohm feedpoints, but rather require 35-ohm, natural impedance feedpoints. Therefore, use the DXE-VMN-1 only on single vertical installations. DX Engineering Vertical Antenna Matching Network features include: * Precision-machined coil tube * Highest quality 12-gauge tin coated solid copper coil wire for high power handling, corrosion resistance, ease of soldering, and long-term reliability * Custom-made silver plated DX Engineering Coil Tap Clip (extras available separately as DXE-CLIP-P) * Custom L bracket for mounting to the optional DX Engineering Radial Plate, DXE-RADP-3 * #14 AWG stranded copper wire with ring terminals for connection to the antenna (adapt or remove as needed for other antennas) * Stainless steel mounting hardware When installed properly as an impedance matching coil, the DXE-VMN-1 easily handles the legal limit Amateur Radio power level of 1500 watts, 1.8 through 30 MHz. DXE VMN-1 maximum inductance by frequency: 300 kHz - 7 MHz: 5.6uH Up to 14 MHz: 7.2uH Up to 21 MHz: 8.5uH Up to 28 MHz: 8.0uH Note: Whenever the DX Engineering "Documentation" is available, please look at the associated files for additional product information.

DX Engineering A/B Station Selectors

The DX Engineering A/B Station Selector Interlocked Coaxial Relay was designed for two-station multi-operator or SO2R contesting from 160 through 6 meters. Two radio inputs and one output for an amplifier, antenna or another relay, allow the AB Selector to function as two interlocked SPST normally open contact coaxial relays when controlled by a user provided SPDT switch or antenna selection automation. This device is a critical component that enables a single radio to access the shared output port while simultaneously isolating the other radio from that port. With over 80dB of isolation between the selected and unselected ports, there is no danger to the opposite receiver from high energy overload or burnout. In place of a manual switch, the AB Selector can be controlled from a distance, or remotely with automation, to select between two antennas or two remote antenna switches for one station feedline. It can also be used to remotely toggle a transceiver, amplifier or station output to either an antenna switch for normal operations or a dummy load for testing and tuning, instead of using a port on a remote antenna switch for the dummy load. Two A/B Station Selectors may be configured as a DPDT reversing switch, as shown in Figure 2 of the user manual, useful for switching two transceivers to two different towers, two antenna switches or two amplifiers that are tuned to different bands or segments, for Single Operator Two Radio (SO2R) stations. Several AB Selectors can be configured for a Multi-2 or Multi-Multi contest station in combination with third-party multi-port antenna switches and band decoders to create an automated band-specific antenna selector system. Contact DX Engineering for more information. The DX Engineering AB Station Selector is a drop-in replacement for the legacy TopTen Devices A/B Station Selector. This relay device features excellent port-to-port isolation, low SWR and low insertion loss, and is rated for full legal SSB and CW power on the 160 through 6 meter bands. This relay features three UHF female/SO-239 connectors, Radio-A, Radio-B and Common and a removable control connector with compression screw terminals. DC voltage input is +12 to 14VDC @ 110mA with sink-to-ground connections for A or B port selection. Neither A or B port is selected when neither A or B control terminal is grounded. The DX Engineering A/B Station Selector may be used for two different switching systems: one common input to two outputs or two inputs to a single common output. Figure 1 in the user manual shows how to connect a user provided SPST switch and power supply. For example, two radios or two amplifiers connected to A and B, can be switched to connect one antenna or antenna switch on the COMMON. Conversely, a single radio or amplifier connected to the COMMON port can be remotely switched between two antennas connected to A and B, or between two amplifiers feeding separate antennas. Alternatively, a station may use the switch to select between an antenna and a dummy load.

DX Engineering NOISELOOP Portable Receive Flag Antenna Kit

DX Engineering NOISELOOP Portable Receive Flag Antenna Kit is based on the design by Don Kirk, WD8DSB. Don's article on this antenna is published in the March 2021 issue of QST Magazine (used by permission). The DXE-NOISELOOP is a kit of parts to build this receive-only portable directional HF loop antenna, which measures only 48 by 24 inches plus 36 inches of mast-handle. It may be used while walking or stationary with your portable HF receiver. Oriented vertically, this loop antenna features a cardioid pattern at the horizon with a deep null of up to 30 dB rejection. It is an excellent tool for locating noise sources from 1.8 through 30 MHz and for low-noise, general coverage reception from the AM broadcast band through 30 MHz. An optional Preamplifier-Attenuator Unit, DXE-NL-PRE-ATT-1, may be attached to the loop mast handle for enhanced operations. An IC-705, a portable SW or a handheld HF receiver are excellent choices for searching for local noise sources with the NOISELOOP, around the neighborhood and even around your own home. This Portable Flag Antenna Kit includes everything needed to make the antenna: fiberglass tubing for the frame and handle, mounting plate, separate PC boards for the bifilar wound transformer and load resistor, antenna wire, coaxial cable with male BNC and stainless steel hardware. Simple hand tools and a solder iron are required for assembly. Included instructions detail assembly. This kit will typically take between 1 and 2 hours to build. The WD8DSB Portable Flag Antenna design has become a real game changer in direction finding of RFI on MF and HF frequencies, and you will also find it an invaluable tool when hunting RFI due to the following key features. *Unidirectional (unlike a tuned loop) *Broadband (unlike a tuned loop, excellent for AM DXing, SWL and Amateur) *Portable (easy to walk with while directional noise finding or HF Fox Hunting) Traditionally Flag antennas are large and designed for stationary use, but the idea for this antenna was to design a Portable Flag. It was designed to be the largest possible (to maximize gain) that would fit inside a car and it's still small enough to maintain a cardioid pattern up through 30 MHz. The portable Flag has an approximate dimension of 2 feet tall by 4 feet long which you (or a helper) can easily walk with while tracking down a signal. Unlike a tuned loop, the Portable Flag is a broadband antenna with unidirectional properties, and it's designed for direction finding from 1.8 to 30 MHz as long as an appropriate preamp is used. It's even useful for direction finding down in the AM broadcast band. The rear of the antenna produces a sharp null when pointed at the signal of interest and the sharp null is often used for direction finding versus using the broad peak which occurs when the front of the antenna is pointed at the signal of interest. DX Engineering Bulk Radial Wire Kits

DX Engineering Bulk Radial Wire Kits will help you achieve optimal performance with a ground-mounted vertical and allow you to install as many radials as possible. These PVC-insulated stranded-copper radial wires are UV-resistant and roll out easily, unlike the wire that's commonly available at "big box" stores. Any type of ground-mounted vertical antenna—an Inverted L for instance—can usually benefit from the addition of a radial system. The increase in field currents provided by radials improves efficiency and antenna Q. Compared to bare wire, DX Engineering Bulk Radial Wire Kits will last much longer when exposed to the elements. These kits include either steel or biodegradable resin radial wire staples for holding down the radials until grass grows over them. The kits work extremely well with DX Engineering Radial Plates (DXE-RADP-3) to create a complete radial system. Biodegradable staples allow easy installation of radial wires and will degrade and disappear in about a year when they are no longer needed, making them environmentally friendly! Biodegradable staples are intended for softer ground, where they may be pushed or lightly tapped into the ground with a tool head. Since they are a resin material, the staples are subject to breaking in rocky or hard soil. They're not intended to be hammered in; if hammering is required for installation, you should use the steel wire staples. Note: Whenever the DX Engineering "Documentation" tab is available, please look at the associated files for additional product information. For easy installation of antenna radials, DX Engineering Bulk Radial Wire Kits provide the wire, ring terminals and lawn staples. Suggested as a station upgrade product; make more contacts to worldwide DX stations and DXpeditions.

DX Engineering Maxi-Core® 20 1:1 Balun and Mount Kits

DX Engineering Maxi-Core® 20 1:1 Balun and Mount Kits, DXE-MC20-1-1BM, provide current balance and feedline isolation for HF through 6 meter verticals, rotatable dipoles, directional beams and Yagi antennas. Intended for 50 ohm feedpoint antennas that offer low SWR, this combination of mounting plate bracket and effective 1:1 RF choke balun handles full-legal-power-plus and provides higher common mode impedance (CMI) across a greater frequency range than competing balun models and previous DX Engineering and Comtek models. Their high CMI across the AM Broadcast band and the HF/6M spectrum is essential to provide sufficient suppression of unwanted transmitted and received RFI/BCI current on the feedline shield exterior. With less noise and interference you will hear and be heard using a DX Engineering Maxi-Core® 20 1:1 Balun and Mount Kit. A similar kit was formerly known as the Vertical Feedline Current Choke. But, the Maxi-Core® 20 1:1 Balun and Mount Kit bring new parts together to work on many types of antennas. They provide improved RF isolation of the feedline and current balance at the feedpoint of a vertical, a beam or rotatable dipole. This is a unique perpendicular mount that allows a beneficial separation between the ferrite of the balun and the antenna boom or mast, resulting in improved choking performance compared to a balun mounted on metal. The UV black high-strength polymer mounting plate provides additional isolation and holes for different mounting positions for the balun, horizontal or vertical. Stainless steel hardware is included to attach the plate to the stainless steel mounting bracket, which has laser cut holes for one of five optional DX Engineering Saddle Clamps to cover mast or boom sizes from 1 to 2 in. and 2.375 to 3 in. Maxi-Core® 20 Baluns feature 1/4-20 stainless steel hardware and a high quality silver-plated PTFE dielectric SO-239 (UHF female) input connector. The SO-239 connector limits power handling to 5 kW or less at low SWR and reduced power at elevated SWR. These baluns exhibit very low insertion loss and inherently low SWR. Maxi-Core ® 20 Baluns are built into a convenient weather resistant NEMA enclosure with weep holes at all four corners of the "bottom" side of the enclosure, to vent properly when mounted vertically or horizontally for all types of antennas. Click "More Detail" for additional information and click Suggested Parts for optional items required, including one saddle clamp to fit your mast or boom, and a wiring kit or flexible copper strap to connect the balun to the antenna feedpoint terminals. Make your antenna play to its potential; reduce RFI and improve reception with DX Engineering Maxi-Core® 20 1:1 Balun and Mount Kits.

DX Engineering Off Center Fed High Power Dipole Kits

DX Engineering Off Center Fed (OCF) dipole wire antenna kits use two different lengths of antenna wire (dipole legs) to achieve operation on the HF bands. A slightly elevated SWR is the trade-off for a single wire antenna that covers multiple bands efficiently. On most bands, the internal tuner in modern transceivers will match the antenna feedline when the SWR is 3:1 or less. On frequencies where the SWR is above 3:1 SWR, an ATU external to the rig may be needed. DX Engineering Off Center Fed Dipoles are designed to be rugged yet lightweight, and handles 1,500 watts SSB and CW. These kits include two lengths of premium 14 gauge relaxed PVC antenna wire, each with a ring terminal soldered on one end; one DXE-MC20-C4-1 DX Engineering Maxi-Core® 4:1 Dual Core Balun (with SO-239); the DXE-WA-BMB Dipole Center Insulator Mounting Bracket for Maxi-Core® Balun including End Insulators; and Stainless Steel hardware. Add supports, coax and rope to your order for a complete multi-band antenna installation.

DX Engineering Vertical Antenna Guying Kits

Some vertical antenna manufacturers indicate that their antennas do not need guying. During times of high winds or ice loading, however, some of these vertical antennas may sustain damage or fail altogether. With the small amount of effort needed to install one of these DX Engineering Vertical Antenna Guying Kits, the risk hardly seems worth taking. They feature a 4-point guying scheme that provides the best mechanical advantage to prevent wind stress, regardless of direction. The guying is intended for stability only and should never be depended on for primary support. DX Engineering Vertical Antenna Guying Kits are especially recommended for use with DX Engineering tilt bases, because just one of the guy ropes has to be loosened when you tilt the vertical down. The remaining guys help to stabilize the vertical in three directions when being raised. These kits have been designed to be used with ground-mounted quarter-wavelength vertical antennas, such as DX Engineering monoband and multiband verticals and the Hustler 4, 5, and 6-BTV models. Using the DX Engineering vertical antenna guying kits, you can install four guy ropes approximately halfway up the vertical antenna system to ground level and angled at approximately 45 degrees. Guying should be tightened just enough to permit the antenna to swing a few inches. The ends of the ropes are tied to the earth anchors that are screwed into the ground at about the same angle as the ropes. Tie the other ends of the ropes to the vertical antenna just above one of the antenna element clamps or traps (a guying ring is not required). Note: Whenever the DX Engineering "Documentation" tab is available, please look at the associated files for additional product information. The DX Engineering Vertical Antenna Guying Kits are available in different lengths to fit your varying vertical antenna needs.
