DX Engineering NCC-2 Receive Antenna Phasing Systems
Imagine adjusting the controls to knock out strong interfering stations or noise—and then being able to copy and log that weak DX station. By successfully combining the right antennas with the advanced phasing capabilities of the NCC-2, this is the operating thrill that every radio enthusiast can enjoy, again and again! DX Engineering NCC-2 Receive Antenna Phasing Systems are variable phasing controllers that combine the 300 kHz- 30MHz received signals from one transmit antenna and one receive antenna, or from two dedicated receive antennas. Combining signals from two stationary antennas physically spaced 1/10 to 1/2 wavelength apart creates an array pattern with signal peaks and dips called nulls. Adjusting the NCC-2 Phase and Balance controls have the effect of electronically rotating or steering that pattern. Steering the null direction to significantly weaken a local or distant interfering signal or noise is known as "Noise Cancelling." This "Noise Cancelling Controller" (NCC-2) can dramatically enhance the reception of weak signals from non-null directions. This "reverse-beam" capability on radio frequencies AM Broadcast through HF can provide amazing benefits for many types of AM DX and SWL receiving and ham radio operating. Work new DX, hear the weak station in casual regional conversations, snag the rare multiplier in contests and hear beyond the noise and interference in dire circumstances. DX Engineering NCC-2 Phasing Systems now feature the built-in RTR Receive-Transmit Interface relay system that expands the exciting benefits of antenna phasing for interference reduction in two ways: * First, the NCC-2 can combine signals from the HF transmit antenna and a separate receive antenna to effectively notch-out strong stations or noise. Almost any Amateur can now enjoy the benefits of antenna phasing and noise-nulling, even those with space limitations for separating the receiving and transmitting antennas. * Second, the user of any standard HF transceiver that lacks a separate receive antenna input can have enhanced reception of noise and signal nulling with the DXE-NCC-2 and two antennas. Rear panel SO-239, F and BNC connectors make the NCC-2 extremely versatile and easy to connect to almost any receiver or HF transceiver up to 200 watts. Redesigned with plug-in modular circuit board sockets, the NCC-2 includes one switched and powered internal slot and two passive internal slots per channel to accommodate these new options: * DXE-RPA-2-PM Receive Preamplifier Plug-In Modules (powered): one per channel for low-signal passive antennas with poor ground conditions * DXE-RG5000HD-PM Receiver Guard 5000HD Plug-In Module (passive): Front-end protection for the NCC-2 and the receiver * DXE-IT-PM 75 to 50 ohm Impedance Transformer Plug-In Module (passive): to match 75 ohm RX ANT feedlines to NCC-2 50 ohm internal impedance * NCC-2 Receive Filter Sets (passive, non-switchable): High Pass, Band Pass and Low Pass Filters for 160, 80, 40 meters typically in stock, with other band filters available individually by special order. DX Engineering NCC-2 Receive Antenna Phasing Systems offer these new additional benefits: * Multi-Color Status Indicating LEDs for Power, RTR Mode and Preamp Power CH A and CH B * New Radio Key Line Input with RX Enable Output-RTR Failsafe to prevent RF damage to NCC-2 and RX equipment * New ACC Key Line Output RCA female 'ground on transmit' pass-through for Amplifier or Accessory * New screw-on 2.1mm DC connector to prevent accidental power cable pull-out * Operates on +13.8VDC @ 2A input to power the NCC-2 and internally jumper set Bias Tee on each RX ANT ports for coax fed Active Verticals and other accessories. DX Engineering NOISELOOP Portable Receive Flag Antenna Kit
DX Engineering NOISELOOP Portable Receive Flag Antenna Kit is based on the design by Don Kirk, WD8DSB. Don's article on this antenna is published in the March 2021 issue of QST Magazine (used by permission). The DXE-NOISELOOP is a kit of parts to build this receive-only portable directional HF loop antenna, which measures only 48 by 24 inches plus 36 inches of mast-handle. It may be used while walking or stationary with your portable HF receiver. Oriented vertically, this loop antenna features a cardioid pattern at the horizon with a deep null of up to 30 dB rejection. It is an excellent tool for locating noise sources from 1.8 through 30 MHz and for low-noise, general coverage reception from the AM broadcast band through 30 MHz. An optional Preamplifier-Attenuator Unit, DXE-NL-PRE-ATT-1, may be attached to the loop mast handle for enhanced operations. An IC-705, a portable SW or a handheld HF receiver are excellent choices for searching for local noise sources with the NOISELOOP, around the neighborhood and even around your own home. This Portable Flag Antenna Kit includes everything needed to make the antenna: fiberglass tubing for the frame and handle, mounting plate, separate PC boards for the bifilar wound transformer and load resistor, antenna wire, coaxial cable with male BNC and stainless steel hardware. Simple hand tools and a solder iron are required for assembly. Included instructions detail assembly. This kit will typically take between 1 and 2 hours to build. The WD8DSB Portable Flag Antenna design has become a real game changer in direction finding of RFI on MF and HF frequencies, and you will also find it an invaluable tool when hunting RFI due to the following key features. *Unidirectional (unlike a tuned loop) *Broadband (unlike a tuned loop, excellent for AM DXing, SWL and Amateur) *Portable (easy to walk with while directional noise finding or HF Fox Hunting) Traditionally Flag antennas are large and designed for stationary use, but the idea for this antenna was to design a Portable Flag. It was designed to be the largest possible (to maximize gain) that would fit inside a car and it's still small enough to maintain a cardioid pattern up through 30 MHz. The portable Flag has an approximate dimension of 2 feet tall by 4 feet long which you (or a helper) can easily walk with while tracking down a signal. Unlike a tuned loop, the Portable Flag is a broadband antenna with unidirectional properties, and it's designed for direction finding from 1.8 to 30 MHz as long as an appropriate preamp is used. It's even useful for direction finding down in the AM broadcast band. The rear of the antenna produces a sharp null when pointed at the signal of interest and the sharp null is often used for direction finding versus using the broad peak which occurs when the front of the antenna is pointed at the signal of interest. DX Engineering Receiver Guard Electronic RF Limiters
DX Engineering Receiver Guard RG5000HD Electronic RF Limiters are the best choice of inline devices to protect your receiver antenna inputs. The Receiver Guard is a receive antenna input limiter specifically designed to protect a sensitive receiver front-end against high levels of RF and potential damage. At the heart of each Receiver Guard is a highly effective electronic RF limiter covering 500 kHz to 150 MHz with an insertion loss under 0.15 dB up to 50 MHz and under 0.30 dB up to 150 MHz. The multi-stage design includes a gas discharge tube for maximum pulse energy protection. The DXE-RG5000HD rejects 10 watts of catastrophic receive antenna feedline RF while passing a maximum signal of about 87 dB over S-9, which is only 25 mw, a signal level that is well below the point of front end damage. Receiver Guards are a must for multiple radio contesting stations and they provide low-cost front-end "insurance." Use them in these common high-RF situations: - Receive antennas in very close proximity to transmit antennas - Field-day operations with many transmitters in close range - Multi-transmitter contesting sites - Neighboring Amateur and CB operators - Frequent high-power mobile encounters Extensively tested and proven in real-world stations, the Receiver Guard works for all radios and offers the ultimate performance required by the upper tier of transceivers tested to have the best narrow-spaced third-order dynamic range or published RMDR (Reciprocal Mixing Dynamic Range). These are passive electronic limiters, so competitive contesting stations use separate band filters in addition to the Receiver Guard. When there are high levels of RF on your receive antennas, the DX Engineering Receiver Guard generates far less harmonic noise than other limiters on the market, which allows your station to continue to operate safely and competitively. At normal HF signal levels the RG5000HD operates continuously with no effect on the performance of your station while providing the best possible protection for your radio. Here are key Receiver Guard features: * Keeps stray high levels of RF from damaging your receiver input * Ideal for separate 160 and/or 80 meter receive systems with large pulse and RF energy capture area * Uses state of the art components for maximum protection of receivers * Under 6 ns response time * Multi-Stage protection * Very low insertion loss * Uses BNC type connectors to avoid accidental connection to a transmit feedline * Has been developed and tested in world-recognized multi-multi contest station K3LR Specifications - DX Engineering Receiver Guard model DXE-RG-5000HD - Frequency Range: 0.5 through 150 MHz - Insertion Loss: < 0.15 dB up to 50 MHz, < 0.3 dB 50 MHz up to 150 MHz - VSWR: < 1.2:1 - Maximum Output Level at 10 W input: +14 dBm (0.025 W) - Maximum Power Handling: 10 W CCS (Continuous Commercial Service) - Device Impedance: 50 to 75 ohms, unbalanced - Connectors, Input and Output: BNC female Note: Whenever the DX Engineering "Documentation" tab is available, please look at the associated files for additional product information. Receive Short Element Active Vertical Antennas are intended to be mounted on a ground rod at ground level in a clear area away from all metal, towers and other antennas. They are sold individually (DXE-RSEAV-1), or with a bias tee (DXE-RSEAV-1FVI) and DXE-RSEAV-1 Receive Short Element Active Verticals set a new standard for "Active Receive Vertical Antennas" replacing legacy DXE-ARAV-3, ARAV-2, ARAV-1 and AL-24 versions. Use multiple DXE-RSEAV-1 for all 4 and 8 element DX Engineering Receive Arrays – all 3, 4 and 8 element Hi-Z Antennas Arrays – and 2 element receive arrays with DXE-NCC-2 and NCC-1 Variable Phasing Controllers. The DXE-RSEAV-1 is designed to be a very low-gain, low-noise antenna for greatly improved signal-to-noise performance over a very wide range of frequencies. In a proper single or multi-element array installation, this Receive Vertical antenna will attenuate high-angle skywave signals, which is the goal for a low band DXing receive antenna. Low-angle, long-range DX signals are easier to copy with a good radio and DX Engineering Receive Short Element Active Vertical Antennas. Please Note: To achieve the expected reception pattern, multi-element phased arrays depend upon identical gain and phase response from each element. Every individual element amplifier, its grounding, and even its feedline characteristics and length, must be identical to the others in the array. Therefore, when unrepairable failures occur, it is essential to replace or upgrade all the elements in the array with identical, fully compatible DXE-RSEAV-1 antennas or DXE-AVA-3 units.

High CMI across the AM Broadcast band and the HF/6M spectrum is essential to provide sufficient suppression of unwanted transmitted and received RFI/BCI current on the feedline shield exterior. With less noise and interference you will hear and be heard using a DX Engineering Maxi-Core® 20 Feedline Choke and Mount Kits. DX Engineering Maxi-Core® 20 Feedline Choke and Mount Kits bring new parts together to work on many types of antennas. They provide improved RF isolation and current balance at either end of the feedline and at the feedpoint of a vertical, a beam, rotatable dipole or other antenna feedline. This is a unique perpendicular choke mount that allows a beneficial separation between the ferrite of the choke and the antenna boom or mast, resulting in improved choking performance compared to a choke mounted on metal. The UV black high-strength polymer mounting plate provides additional isolation and holes for different mounting positions for the choke, horizontal or vertical. Stainless steel hardware is included to attach the plate to the stainless steel mounting bracket, which has laser cut holes for one of five optional DX Engineering Saddle Clamps to cover mast or boom sizes from 1 to 2 in. and 2.375 to 3 in. Click "More Detail" for additional information and click Suggested Parts for required optional items including one saddle clamp to fit your mast or boom and coaxial cable assemblies. Maxi-Core® 20 Feedline Chokes features high quality silver-plated PTFE dielectric SO-239 (UHF female) connectors. The SO-239 connector limits power handling to 5 kW or less at low SWR and reduced power at elevated SWR. These feedline chokes exhibit very low insertion loss and inherently low SWR. They are built into a convenient weather resistant NEMA enclosure with weep holes at all four corners of the "bottom" side of the enclosure, to vent properly when mounted vertically or horizontally for all types of antennas. Make your antenna play to its potential; reduce RFI and improve reception with DX Engineering Maxi-Core® 20 Feedline Choke and Mount Kits.

DX Engineering Bead Choke Standoff Kits
DX Engineering Bead Choke Standoff Kits bring a practical solution to a serious problem when ferrite chokes are placed directly onto the metal boom at the feedpoint of beam antennas. A number of Amateur Radio operators and antenna engineers have known for years about the superior choking function of many ferrite toroids beads placed directly on the coaxial cable, as compared to standard feedpoint baluns. A more recent revelation is that the proximity of ferrite beads on coax taped to the aluminum boom of the antenna drastically reduces their effectiveness. DX Engineering Bead Choke Standoff Kits are mounting systems, made of fiberglass or acetyl standoff rods (color varies), PVC carriers and stainless steel hardware, available in four versions. Two sizes of PVC cradle tubes handle two different types of RF bead chokes; 3/4 inch outside diameter (OD) ferrite beads on RG-400 size cable, and 1 inch OD ferrite beads on RG-213 size 0.405 in. coax cable. Each are offered with two different boom size clamps, 2 inch OD and 3 inch OD. Bead Choke Standoff Kits simply hold an RF bead choke and feedline 4 inches away from the metal beam antenna boom (or 4 inches away from the metal mast for a dipole). They maintain the optimal choking performance of ferrite beads on coax. Using DX Engineering Bead Choke Standoff Kits, ferrite bead chokes function at peak performance for these key results: • Prevent feedline radiation of RF • Preserve current balance for proper beam antenna pattern • Prevent feedline shield exterior collected noise and signals from entering the antenna and interior of the feedline, resulting in lower noise floor and enhanced reception The absolute superiority of RF chokes made of many beads on the feedline, over the traditional enclosure balun, is becoming better understood in Amateur Radio. They achieve the best possible RF isolation of the feedline from the antenna and provide completely balanced currents at the feedpoint. Plus, they provide quieter reception with reduction of common-mode noise. Keeping Bead RF Chokes away from metal preserves the optimal function of this method of antenna feedpoint current balance and isolation. This mechanical requirement is simple and practical with DX Engineering Bead Choke Standoff Kits.

DX Engineering Clifton Laboratories Z10000 Buffer Amplifiers
DX Engineering Clifton Laboratories Z10000 Buffer Amplifiers may be the products most often requested by radio experimenters and electronics enthusiasts. These are the very popular circuits, designed by Jack Smith, K8ZOA (SK), that are crucial for adding a SDR receiver and panadapter display capabilities to a receiver or transceiver which lacks that feature. The Z10000 Buffer Amplifier's high-input impedance can safely tap the early-stage broadband Intermediate Frequency (IF) signal from inside your radio and feed the buffered and amplified low impedance IF signal to your external SDR receiver. It can then produce a spectrumscope - waterfall display pattern of the receiver signals on a compatible tablet or monitor and PC that is running the appropriate third party SDR software. DX Engineering offers two Clifton Labs Buffer Amplifier Kits to add an IF output SMA connector to the rear panel of your radio: * The DXE-Z10000U-KIT is the Universal Buffer Amplifier Kit that covers 50 kHz to 100 MHz. This kit is designed for those willing to do an internal modification, and will output the IF signal of virtually any receiver or transceiver that has an IF in that range. However, the DXE-Z10000U-KIT can be used as a buffer and low-gain preamp between any low level RF devices that operate in that range. As a buffer, this circuit provides over 90dB of reverse isolation to protect the IF stages of the radio from possible birdies on an SDR receiver input. So, even if your radio has an IF output connector, the DXE-Z10000U-KIT may be used externally, with a user-supplied shielded metal enclosure, to be certain to maintain proper radio operation. * The DXE-Z10000K2-KIT is the Buffer Amplifier Kit specifically tuned to the 4.915 MHz IF signal of the Elecraft K2 transceiver. It offers the same high reverse isolation, plus the added benefit of a tuned IF input with a narrower bandwidth of operation and a potentially a lower noise floor on the output. Both Buffer Amp kits contain the updated, completely assembled and tested DX Engineering Z10000C PC Board with a nominal 6.5 dB gain, retaining all the benefits of the reliable original Z10000B boards. Both kits include our finished printed circuit board, required coaxial cables assemblies with special connectors, insulating materials, and hardware—all for an easier installation than ever before! A third party SDR receiver, software (typically free) and compatible tablet or PC and monitor are required to make use of the IF signal provided by the Z10000 Buffer Amplifier and see the signals that your old radio can hear. Due to the high number of specialized radio installations, no printed instructions are included with these buffer kits. Instructional web links are found on the part detail webpages. Installation web documents and videos are only available online. The legacy that was built by Jack Smith, K8ZOA (SK), with Clifton Laboratories, lives on with select products, exclusively from DX Engineering. NOTE: DX Engineering cannot provide electronic technical support of devices installed in user radios and is not responsible or liable for damages that occur to a user radio due to improper or erroneous techniques during the installation of this product. Unplug all electronic devices when working on them and observe all electrical safety and electrostatic discharge precautions when opening sensitive electronics. Modification of a radio should only be attempted by individuals with advanced experience on electronic circuit repair and operation.

DX Engineering Reversible Beverage Systems
DX Engineering Reversible Beverage Systems basically allow two Beverage antennas to be switched to receive in opposite directions while sharing the same physical space. DXE-RBSA-1P Reversible Beverage Systems antennas provide two opposite "end-fire" directional patterns with excellent front-to-rear directivity and superior signal-to-noise ratio as compared to transmitting antennas. Dramatically improved long distance weak signal results may be achieved on MW and the 160, 80 and 40 meter bands, including shortwave bands, with receive-only Beverage antennas using wires that are typically only 350 to 800 feet long, depending upon the band of interest. The two-direction DXE-RBSA-1P Reversible Beverage Systems offer a space and installation advantage because two opposite single-wire Beverage antennas would require twice the length. DX Engineering Reversible Beverage Systems are immune to the strong signal overload and core saturation common in multi-transmitter contesting environments and are used by winning contest stations and low-band DXers around the world. These Reversible Beverage antennas have two "F" connectors; one "Away" port for the default end-fire receiving pattern off the end of the wire, and one "Toward" port for the opposite direction. The standard configuration of these systems has the "Toward" port terminated (75-ohm termination included), so both antennas share a common feedline. Applying a negative 10 to 18V DC to the feedline switches the system between the two antenna ports for reception in opposite directions. For simultaneous reception from opposing directions, each of the two feedlines can be run to separate receivers, with the termination load not used. You can build a 4-direction receive antenna system with two DXE-RBSA-1P Reversible Beverage Systems and one DX Engineering RLS-2 Two-Port Receiving Switch that also requires only one feedline! The optional DX Engineering Feedline Voltage Coupler, model DXE-FVC-1 is highly recommended to provide all of the required feedline voltage injection. Plus, the optional DXE-EC-4 BCD Control Console completes the system for four-direction switching right in the shack. DX Engineering Reversible Beverage Systems are optimized to use our optional 450 ohm ladder line for the antenna element. We strongly recommend using that type of "window line" because the consistent spacing of the antenna wires will produce the best operational results. However, the RBS will work with any 300-600 ohm 2-wire line. For best feed line results, DX Engineering highly recommends using our high quality flooded or quad-shielded 75-ohm coax with F-type compression connectors to ensure a weatherproof installation. Additional features include: * Broad operating range, 0.2 to 30 MHz * Fully isolated grounds prevent common-made noise and unwanted signals * 75 ohm design enables the use of high quality, low cost cable and connectors * RF shielded housing used for isolation and improved life * Directional Switching Voltage: nominal 12V AC or negative 12V DC, feedline injected * Directional Switching Current: less than 80 mA * Antenna impedance: 300-600 ohm (450 ohm recommended) * Feedline impedance: 50-75 ohm (75 ohm recommended) * RBSA-1FP Feed Point unit dimensions: 5.5 in. width x 3.5 in. depth x 1.5 in. height * RBS-1RT Reflection Transformer unit dimensions: 2.125 in. width x 2.125 in. depth x 1.125 in. height Note: Whenever the DX Engineering "Documentation" tab is available, please look at the associated files for additional product information. These four-square hybrid systems are available in versions for the 160, 80, and 40 meter bands. They can be easily dropped into your quarter-wave spaced vertical 4-antenna array to provide optimum directional control. They allow the operator to receive or transmit with 5.5 dB gain in any one of four directions with a 20+ dB front-to-back ratio for interference reduction from unwanted directions. You can also switch to a single Omni-directional pattern with a push of a single button. This combination permits you to listen "all-around," unhindered by pattern nulls, and then select the best direction for signal reception and noise rejection. TFS4 Series B Transmit Four Square Systems are designed for use with four monoband vertical antennas placed at the corners of a square that is one-quarter wavelength on a side. The vertical element must be ungrounded and resonant in the desired band, and should be directly base-fed by the coaxial cable phasing lines from the centrally located controller (shunt-fed towers or radiating elements cannot be used). DX Engineering has several vertical antennas that are well suited for this application. Above all, a properly designed and installed radial system is necessary for top antenna performance, whether it's a single vertical or a full array. DX Engineering strongly recommends our optional Q75- series quarter wavelength cables constructed from our own high quality DXE-11U coax. It features a waterproof PE jacket, foam dielectric and has a velocity factor of 82 percent. These cables are electronically pruned to a precise electrical length derived from your choice of center operating frequency, terminated with hand-soldered silver-PTFE PL-259 connectors and weather-sealed with shrinkable tubing. Finally, each cable is tested for high voltage breakdown for maximum reliability and power handling. Since the transmit power is divided by the controller, the coaxial cable can handle QRO power with ease. If you already have a four-square array with a hybrid controller and would like to upgrade to improved performance and the Omni feature, the DX Engineering TFS4 Series B Transmit Four Square Systems are a direct transplant. BCD logic switching allows for the use of a 4-wire control cable to perform the necessary switching functions when powered by the included control console. DX Engineering Receive 8 Circle Array Controllers
DX Engineering RCA8C-1 Receive 8 Circle Array Controllers are the highly sophisticated switch controller relay units from the Eight Circle Array Systems--the receiving systems that use time delay phasing--rather than the conventional narrow-band, frequency-dependent phasing, to provide eight 45 degree spaced directional patterns. The RCA8C time delay phasing is directivity-optimized to produce wider and deeper rear nulls and a narrower main lobe. The result is that noise and undesirable signals are greatly reduced for a superior front-to-rear ratio (F/R). Better control of phase and currents provides a cleaner pattern with the Receive 8 Circle than is available with vertical antenna transmit arrays. DX Engineering Receive 8 Circle Array Controllers are designed to be used with eight identical vertical active or passive vertical elements, symmetrically spaced in a large circle, to provide switching for an 8-direction receiving antenna system. Passive elements will generally provide you with a monoband receiving system. Finally, these systems offer greater reliability in receiving applications. Receive Eight Circle Array Controllers use sealed relays sized for receiving applications with silver contacts to prevent oxidation and contamination. Most transmitting four-square switches use large open-frame relays where the contacts are exposed to the air, which can lead to contamination. Relays with brass contacts can oxidize, leading to poor conductivity. Receive Eight Circle Array controllers feature: * W8JI design * Operation from 100 kHz to 30 MHz * Excellent directivity for better signal-to noise ratio * Switching console provides eight 45 degree spaced directions * Less physical space and maintenance required than phased Beverage antennas * Low current DC powered control console allows system operation without AC power mains The optional DX Engineering Eight Circle Receive Short Element Active Vertical Antenna Package, DXE-RSEAV-8, offers excellent receiving performance from 100 kHz to 30 MHz, while using only a 8.5 ft. (2.6m) aluminum vertical antenna elements. A unique design makes the Receive Eight Circle Array System vastly superior to traditional active vertical antennas in both strong signal handling and feedline decoupling. This results in significantly better weak signal reception due to lower spurious signal interference and reduced noise. DX Engineering RCA8C Receive 8 Circle Array Controllers are the foundation of your Eight Circle Array!

DX Engineering TWIG QRP 4:1 Current Baluns
The DXE-TWIG-4-1C QRP Current Balun is designed to be used as the feedpoint of a very low power (QRP) Off Center Fed dipole (OCF) antenna. Ideal for use during outdoor adventures such as POTA® or SOTATM, or any portable operation. The TWIG-4-1C incorporates a 4:1 transformer to convert the OCF antenna impedance of 200-ohms to the desired 50-ohms to match the coaxial cable feedline. It also has a 1:1 feedline choke, to prevent current imbalance, detuning, and to help prevent the addition of unwanted noise. The connector is a BNC female and mates with the recommended coax and most low power (QRP) transceivers. When properly installed and the element wire is properly tuned, you should not need an external tuner. This reduces the need to bring more equipment than is necessary or a portable operation and provides higher efficiency of your output signal and instant band changes. The antenna shown in this manual was designed and tested using the optional 24 AWG wire such as CEW-VIZ24-YEL100 stranded copper, PVC insulated, high visibility yellow antenna wire. The BNC connectors coax cable is recommended to be at least 25 to 35 feet in length. The antenna can be installed in different configurations of wire lengths for various band selections. For example, a very common TWIG QRP OCF for 40, 20, 15 and 10 meters has one 57 ft. dipole wire and the other wire is 12 ft. See the chart in the Instruction Manual linked below for details. This is a low power (QRP) antenna system balun which handles only 25 Watts on SSB, 10 Watts on CW and 5 Watts on digital mode when antenna SWR less than 2:1, without the use of an antenna tuner.
