Rothammel's Antenna Book

For many years, radio enthusiasts and experimenters have been using 'Rothammel's Antenna Book,' making it a mainstay in amateur-radio literature as an "antenna cookbook." Originating in the 1950's, this book has been published in numerous German-language editions over the decades and has developed into a comprehensive reference book for practical applications. Rothammel's Antenna Book is finally available in this First Edition in English as translated and revised from the German 13th Edition this book. Theory is deliberately simplified in this text, but practice is treated in great detail so that readers with no special technical training are able to reproduce the described antennas without difficulty. However, this antenna book also offers the "old hands" something new. It gives suggestions for their own developments and provides an overview of the international state of antenna technology from the point of view of amateur radio. The demand for the German-language editions published to date suggests that this practical method of sharing knowledge will also be popular on an international level. Some antenna forms of regional relevance became internationally known only by the description in amateur radio literature. In this way, they were included in the worldwide exchange of experience among ham-radio operators for further development. The antenna book has become a link in the exchange of experience because it makes even less well-known developments and constructive solutions accessible to more radio enthusiasts interested in antenna technology.
