DX Engineering Switch Pad 8 Transceiver Memory Keypad is an eight-button external keypad inspired by DM2RM for use with specific Icom and Kenwood transceivers. It provides a method of selecting voice and CW keying memories without the need to access the keyer menu on the transceiver's main touch screen. This prevents the reduction of the functionality of the main screen during contesting. It also enhances transceiver keyer memory access without the need to integrate the radio with a computer program. For these Kenwood transceivers, in addition to memory keyer access, any of 99 different functions may be programmed to respond to one of the eight buttons on this external keypad, as described in the transceiver manuals. This convenient keypad connects to the appropriately named 3.5mm port only on these transceivers: Icom IC-705, IC-7610, IC-7850 and IC-7851 Kenwood TS-890S and TS-990S See your transceiver manual for functional details of using an external keypad. This item will operate as described. The Switch Pad 8 has an internal jumper to select for use with either Icom or Kenwood.
