Because Irish ship builders of the day pronounced "double" as "dooble," these insulators were once known as "glass doobies" due to their tempered-glass material and double-ended form. DX Engineering's DXE-TGI-2 end insulators are 3.69 in. long with 1.125 in. diameter double ends. Each smoothed and rounded end has a 5/16 in. (0.3125 in.) hole that will accommodate many wire and rope sizes without chafing. Their tensile strength and resistance to arcing will withstand almost any wire-antenna use within the Amateur Radio service, domestic or abroad. Since these are end insulators, they are sold as a pair.
These are not toy-like models or replica insulators; these are fully functional, high strength glass insulators with excellent RF properties!
