DX Engineering XB-5 Hexx Beam HF Antenna

The DX Engineering XB-5 Hexx Beam is a lightweight directional five-band HF antenna for the 20, 17, 15, 12 and 10 Meter bands that is ideal for permanent or temporary installations. What are the benefits of this oddly shaped HF beam antenna? There are many, such as its small turning radius and full legal-limit power handling on all bands. But the most important are that the XB-5 Hexx Beam receives signals very well and transmits RF very efficiently. Its special configuration of full-size wire elements reject noise so more signals are heard. Months of development have culminated in this advanced antenna design for easier assembly, improved SWR and better bandwidth while maintaining excellent front-to-back performance. The DX Engineering XB-5 is our best Hexx Beam to date. DXE-XB-5 is the complete HF antenna package of specialized DX Engineering XB-5 Hexx Beam components; some are new and pre-assembled. These essential components include the patented* Hexx Hub and the Stainless Steel and PTFE Rigid Flat Feeder which is fully balanced with the Maxi-Core® 20 1:1 Current Balun and Mount. DX Engineering PS-3B PRO-STACK Three Antenna Phasing System

Dominate the airwaves with a DX Engineering PS-3B PRO-STACK Three Antenna Phasing System. Achieve ultimate array control and performance with three identical Yagi or Log Periodic directional antennas or use the system for vertical antennas in a phased array. DXE-PS-3B Pro-Stack Units are frequency independent broadband phasing devices that operate with three antennas on any bands, from 160 through 10 meters. Select from twelve combinations of in-phase and out-of-phase for pattern and null steering that wins contests and snags the rarest DX! DXE-PS-3B-P PRO-STACK Three Antenna Phasing Systems consist of one DXE-PS-3B Relay Unit and one DXE-EC-PS3 Control Console with manual 12-position rotary switch. This advanced system requires only 9-conductor control cable and standard 50-ohm feedlines of equal lengths to each antenna. DXE-PS-3B Pro-Stack Broadband Three Antenna Phasing Systems offer these compelling features: - Power Handling up to 5 kW - Broad band coverage on 160-10 meters - RF Shielded Weatherproof Housing - unique protection - DXE-PS-3B has High-RF tolerant, silver - PTFE SO-239 (UHF female) connectors - DXE-PS-3BN-P are high-quality silver-PTFE Type N female connectors - DXE-PS-3BDIN has Amphenol Connex 7-16 DIN Panel Connectors - Proven high current DX Engineering RF Relays - Safe 12 volt DC relay operation - MOV surge protection on control lines - RoHS compliant assembly DXE-PS-3B Broadband Phasing Units provide the greatest flexibility for three identical antennas. This relay unit contains a broad-bandwidth high-power 2:1 impedance matching transformer. This eliminates common requirements of using mixtures of 75 ohm and 50 ohm phasing or delay cables for impedance matching. Feedlines to each antenna from the relay unit must be the same cable of the same length and match the antenna impedance. So all of them need only be as long as the longest, to reach from the antennas to the relay unit. While it is best to have feedlines of equal electrical lengths, there is no need to closely phase-match cables; cutting the antenna feedlines made from the same coax to equal physical lengths is sufficient. To ensure lowest SWR, impedance matching automatically changes when any antenna is disabled. By switching between antennas at different heights above ground and/or changing the phase relationship between multiple antennas. The old standard system in stacks was to activate or disable specific antennas in the stack to change pattern. However, with the Pro-Stack system, gain remains higher when all antennas are driven and phase is changed, plus this system allows phase inversion as well as the ability to switch any single antenna out of the array. Signals arrive at your antenna system from different azimuth directions and different elevation angles. Adding a stacking phasing system to a rotational array adds the ability to steer the pattern of the antenna array in two planes, azimuth and elevation, and to move the major lobe and nulls. This is accomplished by switching between three identical antennas that are properly spaced for phasing, as well as changing the phase relationship between the antennas to effect changes in the null positons of their elevation patterns. The greatest advantage of equipping your array with a DX Engineering Pro-Stack is the ability to move debilitating pattern nulls away from signal arrival angles. While gain makes a marginal improvement, moving a 20 to 40 dB null can make a phenomenal change in reception. So, the Pro-Stack can make the difference between a barely readable and a strong signal, thus providing the performance edge needed to work rare DX - and win contests. DX Engineering Tinned Copper Radial Wire Kits

DX Engineering Tinned Copper Radial Wire Kits include plentiful quantities of biodegradable staples and tinned crimp ring terminals that are easily soldered. Along with spools of the same wire as used by the most successful contest stations and DX enthusiasts for their ground-mounted vertical antennas, these kits will help your antenna system achieve optimal performance. The 16 AWG tinned solid copper wire in these kits provide an extremely cost effective solution for the high-count, full-size ground radial wire systems that are required for top-performing HF vertical antenna installations. Ground wire radials do not need to be any specific length because the earth detunes them. Fill your ground-mounted vertical space with radials that run out from the antenna feedpoint in all possible directions, as far as they can go, up to about one-quarter wavelength on the lowest frequency. Even radials that are all about one-eighth wavelength long on the lowest frequency band are just fine for multi-band verticals over reasonably conductive soils. Use longer radials on lossy soils with sand and rocks. In most cases, a greater number of short ground radials will provide greater efficiency and stronger signals than is achieved with a few long radials. DX Engineering Tinned Copper Radial Wire Kits are available in four sizes: Shorter spool kits, 500 ft. and 1,000 ft., are perfect for the single HF ground-mounted vertical. Longer spool kits, 2,500 ft. and 5,000 ft., are intended for 2-element Dual Vertical Arrays, 3-element ProStack Arrays, and 4-element Four Square Array Systems. Each kit has the appropriate number of biodegradable staples and tinned crimp ring terminals. Why is this wire the absolute best choice for any ground-mounted vertical antenna? Because, DX Engineering Tinned Copper Radial Wire will last much longer in a variety of soil conditions as compared to bare copper, copper coated steel or aluminum wires. Radials deployed with those other wire types actually corrode and degrade rather quickly. Unfortunately, they do so slowly enough that the operator does not easily perceive that degradation in terms of antenna system performance. With Tinned Copper wire, full radial system integrity is maintained for a greater number of years. Depending upon soil type, installations with DXE-TCRW16 will maintain vertical antenna performance for many, many years… and even decades. NOTE: To prevent accelerated corrosion and the possibility of noise, DO NOT use metal anchor pins (lawn staples) on Tinned Copper Radial Wire. These kits contain only the DXE-STPL-100BD Biodegradable Anchor Pins to hold down bare wire radials. Biodegradable staples allow easy installation of radial wires and will disperse in a couple years, after they are no longer needed, making them site friendly. Biodegradable staples work best in soft ground where they may be pushed or lightly tapped into the ground. Since they are a lacto-resin material they are subject to breaking in rocky or hard soil and are not intended to be hammered. DX Engineering Tinned Copper Radial Wire kits are the right choice for long lasting top-performance radial systems for your ground-mounted vertical antenna system.

DX Engineering DXE-VE-60-2P-RAD 60-Meter Monoband Vertical Antennas

DX Engineering DXE-VE-60-2P-RAD 60-Meter Monoband Vertical Antennas are high performance, mono-band vertical antenna systems that are easy to assemble, install and adjust. Ruggedly built, they taper from a sturdy 2.125 in. O.D. base section to a 0.25 in. top section. This slow taper provides the widest bandwidth. The base sections are secured to a unique heavy duty insulated channel with DX Engineering's heavy duty U-saddle clamps. The massive EXTREN® fiberglass and polyester channel insulator supporting the rugged structural grade type 6063-T832 drawn aluminum antenna radiator has over twice the tensile and flexural strength of competitive nylon materials, and they are superior for their RF handling characteristics. An optimum 43 ft. in nominal length, these antennas provide full-band 60M coverage in an antenna that is one full quarter wavelength. Since the impedance at resonance of a properly installed quarter wave vertical is less than 50 ohms, the SWR may be optimized with the optional DXE-VMN-1 Matching Network Kit, rather than changing the length in an attempt to find better SWR. Parts included with DXE-VE-60-2P-RAD antenna kits are: * DXE-MBVE-5ABASE * DXE-MBVE-5ATOP * DXE-MBVE-5A60MCK (60 meter kit) * Maxi-Core® 20 1:1 Current Choke Balun * DXE-UN-BRKT-5A Balun mounting bracket * DXE-RADP-3 Radial plate * DXE-STPL-100P radial ground staples * DXE-RADW-500 radial wire (500 ft. coil) * DXE-225RT-20 Ring terminals * DXE-SSVC-2P Saddle clamps The SAF-T-TILT Tilt™ Base, supplied with the DXE-VE-60-2P-RAD, allows you to make tuning changes easily. Designed with 6063 corrosion-resistant aluminum tubing and stainless steel hardware, these antennas are very durable and attractive. With excellent surface appearance, 6063 aluminum alloy is the best alloy for high strength, long-lasting antenna applications. 60 meters is used throughout much of the world as an emergency and search and rescue band. Carrier frequencies from 5.102 through 5.425 MHz are used, with Upper Sideband as the emission mode. Due to limited access and rugged terrain, heavier activity exists in Australia and the State of Alaska. Alaska's emergency channel is 5167.5 USB. Australia has a 60 meter health and welfare net to monitor its citizens traversing the treacherous Outback regions. Amateur Radio operations have also been authorized on 60 meters in many parts of the world. In the USA, five channels are available including 5330.5 kHz, 5346.5 kHz, 5357.0 kHz, 5371.5 kHz, and 5403.5 kHz. These are the frequencies that appear in your transceiver's tuning display when your transceiver is properly set in the USB mode. Note: Whenever the DX Engineering "Documentation" tab is available, please look at the associated files for additional product information. CW and digital modes may also be used on 60 meters. That makes 60 meters a worldwide and versatile DX band! Get in on the 60 meter action with a robust quarter wave vertical antenna.
