DX Engineering RSR-891 Radio Side Rails are custom designed to provide protection and attachment possibilities for the popular Yaesu FT-891 mobile transceiver. They guard the front and rear panels whenever the radio is used for portable operations. Radio Side Rails are very sturdy, made from a high strength but lightweight impact-resistant black polymer. The rails serve as handles at the front, flared outward to retain normal access to the controls. Their curved shape at the back panel makes it easier to slip the transceiver into a backpack, and they are ideal for POTA activations as well as casual portable activities. Radio Side Rails feature the appropriate cutouts for ventilation and connections, and specialized contours that facilitate quick and easy hook and loop strap mounting of an automatic antenna tuner or other accessory. Each kit includes four M4 thumb screws and four M4 Hex Socket Head Screws and a hex wrench, so Radio Side Rail attachments can be temporary or long-term. Extra protection is provided by the included eight rubber bumpers that are user installed into the four recessed holes on the inside surfaces of each side rail before attachment to the radio.
NOTE: The torque specification for the M4 screws and thumb screws is a maximum of 10 inch-pounds. It is crucial not to exceed this specification, and use only the provided fasteners, as they have been specifically selected to prevent internal damage to the transceiver.
