DX Engineering TB300 Advanced Design Thrust Bearings
DX Engineering TB300 Advanced Design Thrust Bearings offer a major advance in mechanics that solve the issues with competing tower mast bearings that wear out too quickly They are specifically designed for a vertically mounted 1.5 to 2.0 inch OD tower mast installed for the efficient rotation of directional HF, VHF, UHF and SHF antennas. Introduced in early 2021, the upgraded DX Engineering TB300 features high quality stainless steel ball bearings and stainless steel races that keep the bearings very clean. Compared with ANY OTHER thrust bearings, our TB300 thrust bearings are firm and strong with an ultra-low rotation resistance that has to be seen to be believed. These heavy-duty bearing assemblies are cast from high-strength zinc-aluminum alloy, precision machined and assembled to last for the life of the tower installation. DX Engineering Thrust Bearings are 7 in. diameter overall and mate with tower bearing plates and accessory plates for ROHN or Amerite towers. DX Engineering TB300 thrust bearings mount directly to: -DXE-AS455G DX Engineering Accessory Shelf for inside of ROHN 45G and 55G and Amerite 45 & 55 -Pre-drilled "Flat-Top" Tower Section models ROHN 25AG4 ROHN 45AG4 -Top Bearing Plate models ROHN BPL25G on top of a straight 25G tower section ROHN BPL45G on top of a straight 45G tower section ROHN BPL55G on top of a straight 55G tower section -Tower Top Bearing Plate with Accessory Shelf ROHN BAS25G for top of a straight 25G Tower Sections (may be used on the top of combination model). They may also be used on any Amerite Tower and accessory that corresponds to the ROHN part numbers listed above, including tower-top bearing shelves for AME-25, 45 and 55 series towers. NOTE: Accessory Shelf models that fit inside of ROHN or Amerite 25G do not accommodate DX Engineering Thrust Bearings. These bearings are intended only for top mount on flat top 25G tower. The DXE-TB300 Thrust Bearing, for up to 2 in. OD mast, is supplied complete with hardware. The three stainless steel mast capturing and centering hex head bolts are 3/8-16 x 1-1/2 in. long with stainless steel hex nuts. The mounting hardware, four (4) structural mounting bolts are 1/2-13 x 1-1/4 inch long, and the mounting hex nuts and washers are all galvanized. The TB300 accommodates a mast size range of 1.500 to 2.000 in. OD. Designed and built for vastly improved longevity, our thrust bearings reduce the load on your rotator motor more efficiently than the old standard version. Order DX Engineering TB300 Advanced Design Thrust Bearings for your tower project with 2 inch OD mast.

DX Engineering NOISELOOP Portable Receive Flag Antenna Kit
DX Engineering NOISELOOP Portable Receive Flag Antenna Kit is based on the design by Don Kirk, WD8DSB. Don's article on this antenna is published in the March 2021 issue of QST Magazine (used by permission). The DXE-NOISELOOP is a kit of parts to build this receive-only portable directional HF loop antenna, which measures only 48 by 24 inches plus 36 inches of mast-handle. It may be used while walking or stationary with your portable HF receiver. Oriented vertically, this loop antenna features a cardioid pattern at the horizon with a deep null of up to 30 dB rejection. It is an excellent tool for locating noise sources from 1.8 through 30 MHz and for low-noise, general coverage reception from the AM broadcast band through 30 MHz. An optional Preamplifier-Attenuator Unit, DXE-NL-PRE-ATT-1, may be attached to the loop mast handle for enhanced operations. An IC-705, a portable SW or a handheld HF receiver are excellent choices for searching for local noise sources with the NOISELOOP, around the neighborhood and even around your own home. This Portable Flag Antenna Kit includes everything needed to make the antenna: fiberglass tubing for the frame and handle, mounting plate, separate PC boards for the bifilar wound transformer and load resistor, antenna wire, coaxial cable with male BNC and stainless steel hardware. Simple hand tools and a solder iron are required for assembly. Included instructions detail assembly. This kit will typically take between 1 and 2 hours to build. The WD8DSB Portable Flag Antenna design has become a real game changer in direction finding of RFI on MF and HF frequencies, and you will also find it an invaluable tool when hunting RFI due to the following key features. *Unidirectional (unlike a tuned loop) *Broadband (unlike a tuned loop, excellent for AM DXing, SWL and Amateur) *Portable (easy to walk with while directional noise finding or HF Fox Hunting) Traditionally Flag antennas are large and designed for stationary use, but the idea for this antenna was to design a Portable Flag. It was designed to be the largest possible (to maximize gain) that would fit inside a car and it's still small enough to maintain a cardioid pattern up through 30 MHz. The portable Flag has an approximate dimension of 2 feet tall by 4 feet long which you (or a helper) can easily walk with while tracking down a signal. Unlike a tuned loop, the Portable Flag is a broadband antenna with unidirectional properties, and it's designed for direction finding from 1.8 to 30 MHz as long as an appropriate preamp is used. It's even useful for direction finding down in the AM broadcast band. The rear of the antenna produces a sharp null when pointed at the signal of interest and the sharp null is often used for direction finding versus using the broad peak which occurs when the front of the antenna is pointed at the signal of interest.
