DX Engineering Receiver Guard Electronic RF Limiters
DX Engineering Receiver Guard RG5000HD Electronic RF Limiters are the best choice of inline devices to protect your receiver antenna inputs. The Receiver Guard is a receive antenna input limiter specifically designed to protect a sensitive receiver front-end against high levels of RF and potential damage. At the heart of each Receiver Guard is a highly effective electronic RF limiter covering 500 kHz to 150 MHz with an insertion loss under 0.15 dB up to 50 MHz and under 0.30 dB up to 150 MHz. The multi-stage design includes a gas discharge tube for maximum pulse energy protection. The DXE-RG5000HD rejects 10 watts of catastrophic receive antenna feedline RF while passing a maximum signal of about 87 dB over S-9, which is only 25 mw, a signal level that is well below the point of front end damage. Receiver Guards are a must for multiple radio contesting stations and they provide low-cost front-end "insurance." Use them in these common high-RF situations: - Receive antennas in very close proximity to transmit antennas - Field-day operations with many transmitters in close range - Multi-transmitter contesting sites - Neighboring Amateur and CB operators - Frequent high-power mobile encounters Extensively tested and proven in real-world stations, the Receiver Guard works for all radios and offers the ultimate performance required by the upper tier of transceivers tested to have the best narrow-spaced third-order dynamic range or published RMDR (Reciprocal Mixing Dynamic Range). These are passive electronic limiters, so competitive contesting stations use separate band filters in addition to the Receiver Guard. When there are high levels of RF on your receive antennas, the DX Engineering Receiver Guard generates far less harmonic noise than other limiters on the market, which allows your station to continue to operate safely and competitively. At normal HF signal levels the RG5000HD operates continuously with no effect on the performance of your station while providing the best possible protection for your radio. Here are key Receiver Guard features: * Keeps stray high levels of RF from damaging your receiver input * Ideal for separate 160 and/or 80 meter receive systems with large pulse and RF energy capture area * Uses state of the art components for maximum protection of receivers * Under 6 ns response time * Multi-Stage protection * Very low insertion loss * Uses BNC type connectors to avoid accidental connection to a transmit feedline * Has been developed and tested in world-recognized multi-multi contest station K3LR Specifications - DX Engineering Receiver Guard model DXE-RG-5000HD - Frequency Range: 0.5 through 150 MHz - Insertion Loss: < 0.15 dB up to 50 MHz, < 0.3 dB 50 MHz up to 150 MHz - VSWR: < 1.2:1 - Maximum Output Level at 10 W input: +14 dBm (0.025 W) - Maximum Power Handling: 10 W CCS (Continuous Commercial Service) - Device Impedance: 50 to 75 ohms, unbalanced - Connectors, Input and Output: BNC female Note: Whenever the DX Engineering "Documentation" tab is available, please look at the associated files for additional product information. What happens if the receive antenna is extremely close to the transmit antenna, or there is an antenna support or other system failure that causes a high RF level to enter the receive antenna input? Other lightning protection products can also be mounted, such as the DXE-IS-RCT Control Line Protector and Alpha Delta Lightning Protectors. Additionally, a solid copper strap from the station grounding bus bar may also be sandwiched between the copper plates of this clamp and the ground rod (not shown). An anti-seize compound such as JTL-12555 Jet Lube SS-30 Pure Copper Anti-Seize must be used on the threads to prevent galling or seizing of stainless steel hardware. All connections must be generously coated with a conductive joint compound to prevent moisture penetration and enhance conductivity. Properly weatherproofing coaxial cables and lightning protectors is important to ensure the longevity of the connection and maintain optimal performance. Prior to attaching the lightning protectors, install the coaxial cables to the lightning protectors and weather seal the PL-259 connectors using TES-2155 Temflex Rubber Sealing Tape with an overwrap of TES-06132 3M Super 33+ Vinyl Tape or 3M Scotch Super 88 Premium Vinyl Tape (TES-06143). These easily removable connector sealing tapes are now available in kits. The lightning protector bodies are not weatherproof and it is suggested to use a DX Engineering Weatherproofing Kits to permanently cover the body of the protectors. Some users have also suggested covering the entire assembly with a plastic food container or plastic trash bin As with all electronic equipment, take proper safety considerations. For example: Do not install if there is a storm anywhere in your area. Do not adjust or touch the grounding system equipment when there is a storm anywhere in your area. Make sure all power is removed before making any adjustments or working on any ground system or grounding components. Note: Whenever the DX Engineering "Documentation" tab is available, please look at the associated files for additional product information. Complete your coaxial cable grounding installation with DX Engineering UCGC-Z Universal Copper Grounding Clamps.

DX Engineering Bulk Radial Wire Kits
DX Engineering Bulk Radial Wire Kits will help you achieve optimal performance with a ground-mounted vertical and allow you to install as many radials as possible. These PVC-insulated stranded-copper radial wires are UV-resistant and roll out easily, unlike the wire that's commonly available at "big box" stores. Any type of ground-mounted vertical antenna—an Inverted L for instance—can usually benefit from the addition of a radial system. The increase in field currents provided by radials improves efficiency and antenna Q. Compared to bare wire, DX Engineering Bulk Radial Wire Kits will last much longer when exposed to the elements. These kits include either steel or biodegradable resin radial wire staples for holding down the radials until grass grows over them. The kits work extremely well with DX Engineering Radial Plates (DXE-RADP-3) to create a complete radial system. Biodegradable staples allow easy installation of radial wires and will degrade and disappear in about a year when they are no longer needed, making them environmentally friendly! Biodegradable staples are intended for softer ground, where they may be pushed or lightly tapped into the ground with a tool head. Since they are a resin material, the staples are subject to breaking in rocky or hard soil. They're not intended to be hammered in; if hammering is required for installation, you should use the steel wire staples. Note: Whenever the DX Engineering "Documentation" tab is available, please look at the associated files for additional product information. For easy installation of antenna radials, DX Engineering Bulk Radial Wire Kits provide the wire, ring terminals and lawn staples. Suggested as a station upgrade product; make more contacts to worldwide DX stations and DXpeditions.

DX Engineering Radio RF Ground Plane Kits
DX Engineering Radio RF Ground Plane Kits provide an effective method of reducing stray RF pickup by equipment and interconnecting cables. Used under and connected to radio equipment, these 1/16 inch thick, pre-drilled aluminum or copper sheets create an RF reference plane that is also connected to the existing grounding bus. As described in the ARRL's "Grounding and Bonding for the Radio Amateur 2nd Edition" by H. Ward Silver, N0AX; a large surface area of metal improves upon the single conductor grounding buss by equalizing the RF E-field (electric field) around equipment and attached cables. This reduces voltage differences between pieces of equipment and the associated currents that cause RF interference to transceivers, microphones and accessories. The reduction in RF interference improves both transmitted and received signal quality. Radio RF Ground Plane Kits are available in 12 versions; three sizes of aluminum or copper plate with hardware and the same three sizes of aluminum or copper plates with companion mounting boards made of 1/2 inch thick Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF), with hardware. All kits are intended for indoor use only. As used by top contesters and DXers alike, a flat metal sheet placed under equipment, along with physically short grounding braids, wires and interconnection cables can significantly reduce the RF voltage differences between cables and equipment. The chance of RF trouble in your equipment is reduced by installing DX Engineering Radio RF Ground Plane Kits in your station.

DX Engineering TWIG End Fed Half Wave QRP Antenna Feedpoint Kits
DX Engineering TWIG End Fed Half Wave QRP Antenna Feedpoint Kits are a compact, essential component for building a low-power (QRP) end-fed half-wave antenna system. Perfect for portable operations and outdoor activities such as POTA® or SOTA™, this feedpoint kit simplifies setup while delivering reliable performance. The TWIG is rated for 25W SSB, 10W CW, and 5W Digital modes, delivering an SWR of less than 2:1 without an antenna tuner. At its core, the TWIG features a 49:1 transformer that matches the impedance of the user supplied half-wave element wire to 50-ohms, ensuring compatibility with most QRP transceivers. The BNC female connector pairs easily with recommended coax cables, and when the element wire is properly tuned, no external tuner is required—reducing the amount of gear you need to carry. The kit includes a built-in quick connector designed for 24/26 AWG antenna wire, making element installation fast and secure. Two end insulators and clips are also provided, ensuring reliable strain relief and easy attachment of the antenna wire in the field. Installation is quick and straightforward, allowing you to get on the air fast and start making contacts. No additional counterpoise wire is necessary; the coax cable serves that function when installed correctly. For best results, use optional 24/26 AWG wire such as CEW-VIZ24-YEL100, a high-visibility, PVC-insulated stranded copper wire. A typical setup uses a sloper configuration, with the feedpoint about 6–7 feet above ground and the wire sloping upward to 25–30 feet. Recommended coax length is 25–35 feet with BNC connectors and adding an optional DXE-LPFC-BNC Feedline Choke at the transceiver end is suggested. While the antenna supports multiple configurations, wire length will vary based on installation.

DX Engineering DVA Dual Vertical Array Systems
DX Engineering DVA Dual Vertical Array Systems are advanced phasing systems that have set a new standard for array performance with two ground-mounted verticals. Dual Vertical Array Systems include a compact DVA Phasing Relay Unit made specifically for an individual HF band and an EC-DVA Directional Control Console. DX Engineering Dual Vertical Arrays produce two opposite enhanced End-Fire Cardioid patterns and one Broadside-Omni pattern. Heavy-duty components handle over 2 kW continuous RF power for enhanced performance at low SWR over a wide bandwidth. The Dual Vertical Array end-fire directional patterns achieve a real front-to-back over 20 dB with typical array forward gain up to 3 dB over a single vertical. The greatest advantage of a Dual Vertical Array is that a tower and rotator are not required, as with a Yagi antenna. Especially for 160, 80, and 40, and even on the other HF bands, a Dual Vertical Array is mechanically simpler and safer. Here is a financially practical directional antenna that is much easier to install! These are great directional antenna systems for temporary and Field Day operation, as well as for permanent builds, because they ARE so much easier to install than a beam! If you are dissatisfied with your present system, are ready for an upgrade, or just need to get out of the tower game, the DX Engineering DVA is your answer! Refurbish an existing antenna system, equip your temporary array, or build a new phased array with a DVA. It's all on the ground, safe and simple: DX Engineering Dual Vertical Arrays offer a better way to enjoy a high-performance mono-band directional antenna. DX Engineering TWIG End Fed Half Wave QRP Antenna Kits
DX Engineering TWIG End Fed Half Wave QRP Antenna Kits include the essential components needed to build a lightweight, low-power (QRP) end-fed half-wave antenna for portable and field operations. Ideal for activities such as POTA® and SOTA™, these kits are designed for quick deployment, efficient operation, and minimal equipment requirements. When properly assembled and tuned, TWIG End Fed Half Wave QRP antennas deliver an SWR of less than 2:1 without the need for an antenna tuner and are rated for 25 watts SSB, 10 watts CW, and 5 watts digital modes. At the heart of these kits is a 49:1 transformer that matches the high feedpoint impedance of the half-wave radiator to a standard 50-ohm coaxial feedline. The integrated BNC female connector is compatible with recommended coaxial cables and most QRP transceivers. Once the included antenna wire is properly tuned for the desired operating band, an external tuner is typically unnecessary, reducing pack weight and simplifying field operation. No separate counterpoise wire is required, as the coaxial feedline serves this function when installed correctly. To simplify assembly and deployment, the kits feature a built-in quick-connect wire terminal designed for use with the included 24 AWG antenna wire. Two end insulators and attachment clips are also included to provide secure strain relief and convenient field installation. A DX Engineering wire winder and reusable Bongo ties help keep the antenna organized and compact when stored or transported. A typical installation uses a sloper configuration, with the feedpoint positioned approximately 6 to 7 feet above ground level and the antenna wire extending upward to a height of 25 to 30 feet. For optimum performance, a 25- to 35-foot coaxial feedline with BNC connectors is recommended. An optional DXE-LPFC-BNC Feedline Choke installed at the transceiver end of the coax is also recommended to help minimize common-mode current. While the antenna can be deployed in a variety of configurations, final wire lengths may vary depending on the installation method and operating requirements. User assembly is required. Recommended tools and materials include wire cutters, a tape measure, 3/16-inch diameter rope to hang the antenna, electrical tape, a suitable throwing weight for antenna installation, and an antenna analyzer for trimming and tuning the antenna element to the desired operating band.
